I booked 3 nights and after reading other reviews here about the scaffolding, decided to change to 2 nights. I'm sorry I did. The scaffolding has a net covering and it's like looking at the view through a net curtain. Not as magnificent as it would be without, but still pretty good. Fabulous location, friendly staff and people who are bothered by the noise from the cafe downstairs should use earplugs. I stayed in room 317, on the corner, it's a superior room and it was worth the extra money. Breakfast was excellent, good variety and friendly dining room lady.

We very much enjoyed our stay..even though the hotel exterior was covered in scaffolding..
We booked a superior room with view.....there was no scaffolding and the view was worth having (room 420) on the fourth floor. The room was small as expected..quite basic but comfortable and clean. We did look at room 517 on the top floor....the suite...which was lovely surrounded by windows and views of the city and the Sacre Cour. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not take breakfast there as this area could really do with a face lift and prefered to go across the street to the cafe....we spent a lot of time there...very friendly and popular. The area is great...hilly though....perfect trip will stay there again....re-decoration due to be finished sometime in September.......

Room Tip: Room 517 is obviously the best and most expensive (bath and shower)....our room 420 4th floor (showe...

The hotel is completely scaffolded so you don't have any view at all. As it is directly located next to a kind of plaza it can be quite loud in the night. The rooms are a bit bigger than they are usually for Paris standard which means you can at least walk around the bed but not more than that. Our room only had a mini shower, fine for me, but all in all the rooms look a bit old and the interior is all very brown and ugly. Nevertheless it is definitely clean, I just wonder why the walls of hotels need to be painted in an ugly off-white.... however the bed was very comfortable and good size but I had a superior room.

Be warned - the hotel is completely surrounded by scaffolding (not mentioned on their website anywhere) and almost impossible to locate. When we got to our room we discovered that there was no lock to the balcony doors and, with tools lying about on the scaffolding, anyone had easy access. We had to swelter overnight as we were too concerned for our safety to leave the balcony doors open.

The bathroom was also a bit of a joke and extremely dangerous to boot. You had to shimmy sideways with a big step to get in to and out of the shower, and there was no hand rail to help. The shower was unclean (presumably as the cleaners could not get in) and the door was unsuitable and hit the toilet bowl when it opened. There was no soap to clean our hands either.

Breakfast was a sorry affair - either baguettes or croissants with minimal choice and insufficient seating.

In addition, the lady on reception was extremely rude and unhelpful unless you make a valiant stab at speaking to her in French (which was a shame, as the men were extremely friendly and helpful) and refused to let us check in before 2 (even when we returned at 1.40). Luggage was left in the hallway where anyone could take anything, and they refused to provide us with a receipt for our bags. I don't think travel insurance would cover you if your stuff went walkies while on the hotel's watch.

This was an extremely disappointing stay (particularly for the money forked out), as there were too many serious faults. It is almost as if the excellent reviews on this website were written about a different hotel, as our experience was so different. We were really looking forward to staying near Sacre Couer in Paris and are so disappointed....

Room Tip: Our room and view looked nothing like any of the pictures here....

As previous reports state exterior of hotel completely covered in scaffolding but I have still given it an excellent rating. This is due to the helpfulness of the staff, the comfortable rooms (which are spacious by Parisian standards) and the excellent location just round the corner from Abbesses metro and a small climb from the Sacre Coeur.Looking forward to staying there again sometime when the hotel renovation work completed.

Room Tip: Not applicable at the moment due to scaffolding obscuring views.

We stayed elsewhere our first few days in Paris and found this place whilst walking the streets of Montmartre. The rooms are small, but they are well maintained, comfortable and the staff is wonderful. AND, I could see the Eiffel Tower from my 3rd floor window...not just the top, but the whole thing. The hotel is situated on a lovely square with benches and there are so many perfect bars and restaurants within several feet if not a short scenic walk. There is no other place in Paris like Montmartre and this is a perfect little place to stay.

Room Tip: pick the top floors for amazing views of the Eiffel Tower on ones side and Sacre Coeur on the other!
