We booked here on a recommendation of a friend who had stayed here in the past. It was a very cute and charming hotel. The decor was a combination of new and old and it really added to the Parisian atmosphere. The staff was incredible and put up with our attempts at French and also spoke in English to help us out. The breakfast was really good--mostly the usual foods you'd find, croissants, pastries, cereal, coffee, juice.
The location was great, too. Lots of cafes and shops nearby, and a nice 20 minute walk to the Louvre and Tuileries.
The only thing that made things a bit more difficult was the noise. There's a restaurant across the street that got a lot of traffic and then there was some construction going on down the street that seemed to start early and work late.
Other than that it was fantastic!

Dear value guest,

We warmly thank you for your positive review.

We are delighted to read the word of mouth was the reason for coming to our charismatic hotel; We are glad your stay was memorable and pleasant.

Our hotel is indeed typical Parisian, as our building dates from the XXVII decades; our rooms follow the history and the French decoration with the Toile de Jouy.

We also love our neighborhood. We are located in the heart of Paris, close to monuments and museums but also perfect for enjoying a dining experience at the bistro or restaurant around the area. While most tourist attractions are very close, we are in a place in a very local atmosphere, the hidden rue du Bac, is where the Parisians live, take their coffee and do their daily shopping.

We well noted your disappointment regarding the construction noises, normally rue du Bac is quiet and calm, as is a one way road. For all the readers, we are pleased to notify the constructions took place exceptionally during few days.

We look forward your next time with us.

Kind Regards,
Claudia

Our 5th I think trip to Paris, but the first time staying on the Left Bank. Now that taxis from CDG are flat-rated it was a fixed rate of 55 euros to get there. Given the distance and the major traffic, that was a very good deal.

Even though just a block from St. Germain-des-Pres it was a quiet street and our room had windows that opened (how lovely!) facing in - not over the street. I love windows that open. Turned off all heating and in late March the room was a perfect temperature at night, with fresh air, and quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the room very attractive. Even though our room was next door to the elevator we heard nothing from it and only occasionally people on the staircase as they humped their over sized suitcases up and down. The continental breakfast was fresh - the croissants and bread excellent (this is France of course!) We found all sorts of new and old attractions well within walking distance. I certainly think this will be our choice of places to stay next time we are in Paris.

Room Tip: We were very happy in #15; top of the first flight of stairs and facing in away from the street.

We loved the location, all the staff were so helpful and the breakfasts delicious, however our room ( Room 10) was so disappointing . It was clean and well serviced, but the toilet was so small it felt like a cupboard and my knees touched the wall while I was busy...I'm not that tall ( or big) a size 12 lady either!
It had French Windows into the Rue du Bac which gave it a lovely Parisian atmosphere 24 hrs a day too.

I guess we feel the pictures on the website were slightly misleading? We paid for a standard room so maybe that 's what we should have expected, but it didn't feel like it.

Room Tip: Don't bring your cat!

Dear value guest,

We thank you for taking the time to write your review of your recent stay in Paris.

We are delighted to read you appreciate our personal one to one service with our attentive and kind receptionist team.

We are sorry to learn this stay wasn’t entirely to your satisfaction, primarily as a result of the toilet size. Please let me reassure our hotel respect the current 3 stars legislation in France.
Our decoration and our room size are typical Parisian represented with the delicate Toile de Jouy wallpaper in all our rooms.

For your next stay with us we are pleased to inform you our superior rooms have a bigger toilet that might be more comfortable for you.

We look forward to welcome you back again.

Best Regards,

Claudia

The Hotel Saing Germain is located in a wonderful street, rue du Bac, full with the nicest shops and brasseries. The hotel is very quiet and you will rest very confortably after a full day wondering around! The hotel is very close to a metro station, only walking distance to le Musé d'Orsay, the Louvre, Saint Germain de près and the quartier latin.
In the hotel every body is very nice and helpful. The service is perfect and will make you feel at home.
The breakfast is nice and well organised.
I fully recommend this hotel for your visit of Paris and I will for sure came back!

A small hotel in a great location. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and always pleasant. I had called two days before and requested an early check in if possible. Not only were our rooms ready but we even had breakfast upon check in. Delightful and intimate breakfast rooms. Soft jazz in the background. A great place to wake up in and comeback to after busy Paris days. Their dinner suggestions were very good as well.

Hotel Saint Germain is a very charming hotel in the heart of Paris. You are close to Louvré, Champs Elysees and the Eiffeltower,

We stayed in the hotel's smallest room. It was quite small, but very charming, clean and nice. The breakfast was not very impressive, but okay.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly.

I will highly recommend this hotel :)
