I've been here twice, first time 10 years ago and the Monets are the aspect of Paris I remembered the most. Now visiting a second time, my breath was once again taken away at the outstanding beauty of Monets work. A must see in Paris!
The paintings on floor -1 were also wonderful; Picassos were great, a real mixture of his work, not the commercial works that are always used for advertising. Very good museum!

This museum gets it name from the original purpose of the building, which was to store the orange trees for the gardens near by. The museum was redone in the early 1900's and Monet donated some original paintings to the museum, which he painted to fit the space, and the museum built the place to match the paintings. He did not live to see the completed rooms. The museum also houses other impressionists paintings. It was a quick visit for us, and included the Paris Pass with skip the line, so basically a no-brainer to stop and see this place.

This museum is small and kind of hidden but definitely worth a visit to see Monet's water lily paintings. It also houses a small but impressive collection of other works including some by Renoir, Matisse, and Picasso. Must see.

A small branch of the "main" Orsay museum. few impressionist pictures. Claude Monet water lilies pond paintings are much too big and dull.

To see the most commonly known paints of the impressionism era, this place is a must. It is a symbol of the beauty that the human kind can create by inspiring himself with the nature.
