Looking at the famous Luxor obelisk at the Place de la Concorde, is like gazing back into ancient history.
If you can ignore the hectic traffic around the square, you are bound to match this ancient relic.
Photo-up galore.

This 23 m high ancient egypt obelisk from Luxor is standing in the middle of Place de la Concorde. It's nice to see an original obelisk outside Egypt.

I like this always when i see it in Place de la Concorde. It is a 3000 year old Obelisk which is sitting in the middle of this famous plaza area in Paris. I read that the twin sits in Egypt still.

I liked taking photos of this from all angles, day and night. Often, you can get the Eiffel Tower in the same photo which makes for some great photos.

Well worth checking out, right in the middle of everything, you can't miss it, nor should you.

The 3,000 year old Obelisk of Luxor that is located in the Place de la Concorde was a gift from Egypt to France. Great photo stop.

I braved the huge traffic circle to examine the Obelisk more closely. There, I realized that this was a significant archaeological monument directly from Egypt and that it had been an engineering feat to move and erect it at the Place de la Concorde in 1836. Gilded images on the pedestal attest to the monumental task of transporting the monolith to Paris and erecting it at the square.
The Luxor Obelisk is over 3,000 years old and was originally situated outside of Luxor Temple, where its twin remains to this day.
The entire structure could not be viewed when I visited due to construction work around the base.
