Hotel Henri IV (Rive Gauche, which is an important distinction) is in an excellent location just a five minute walk from Notre Dame, and 5-15 minutes from multiple metro stops including St-Michel, Cluny, Odeon and Maubert. I had a room on the third floor facing the street, and directly across from St. Severin. It was excellent. While Rue Saint Jacques is busy during the day, the room was very quiet - very little street noise. We did not try the breakfast, which is not included with the stay, but it did look sparse so we opted for breakfast outside of the hotel. The room is air conditioned and there is a lift in the building. The hotel contacted me prior to my stay to confirm final details including arranging transport from the airport. It was very streamlined. The staff is professional, not necessarily warm, but very professional. The restaurant is within walking distance to many neighborhood restaurants including Le Loubnane, a Lebanese restaurant which was a highlight of the trip.

Room Tip: Third floor room facing St. Severin was great

We loved this hotel. We booked 2 rooms and both were unique, beautifully decorated and spacious. The best part was the location.

I’ve been to Paris a few times and this was my first time staying in the Latin Quarter. By far the most interesting part I’ve stayed in. The hotel is located literally across the road from all the cute little cobble streets and restaurants. It’s 2 blocks from the train station that takes you to both CDG and Orly airports but also around the town.

Notre Dame is just a short 2 blocks across the river and down that same street one of the best bakeries I’ve been to in Paris.

The on the same side of the river as the hotel is about a 10-15min walk to the Luxembourg Gardens.

Loved the location and loved the hotel. I would highly recommend.

Comfortable room in excellent location with excellent view over St Severin & near Notre Dame. Bathroom quite small. No coffee or tea-making facilities in rooms. Breakfast expensive & not worth the money. Staff friendly. Hotel clean.

Room Tip: No coffee making facility unlike stated

A real boutique hotel in the heart of Paris Very friendly and service minded staff, fantastic beds and clean rooms. The hotel is perfect located in Notre Dame area.

Only minor issue was the breakfast was not up to standard and the selection was not great.

We just returned from an 8 night stay at the Hotel Henri IV Rve Gauche where we had booked 2 rooms. Our children (19 and 17) were upgraded to a triple upon our arrival: this is a larger room with a queen size bed and a twin that sits in a seperate alcove. It was very nice for them as it afforded them a bit more room (the view was of an exterior alcove of the hotel but they just slept there) Rooms are typical for Europe (small and what I would expect for a 3 star) ) but our A/C worked very well, the bed was comfortable, and it was clean. Our room faced the beautiful church across the street and though the street is busy, we didn't hear street noise and slept very well. We ate breakfast one day in the hotel: they serve a smaller breakfast of coffee/tea or hot chocolate, 2 pastries and orange juice for 6 euros from something like 6-9 a.m. and a larger breakfast for 13 euros. The carafe full of hot coffee was a nice treat. The hotel location is absoluely ideal! The only disappointment: the day we left was a planned train strike, so the day before we had asked the hotel front desk to reserve for us a taxi for 9:30 the next morning. As I was settling the bill (the hotel was paid for in full up front but there were added taxes and the breakfast) the phone rang at 9:25 and the woman told us that due to the strike the "taxi was too busy to come get us." When I asked her what she would suggest we do, she just shrugged her shoulders and said she would take the RER to the airport. She didn't seem concerned for us and she did not offer any further help. I would suggest to the staff that having printed instructions (in several languages) as to how to take metro/train to airport would be very helpful to their hotel guests. It was stressful figuring it out last minute (thank goodness for Google Maps and some very friendly Parisians on the metro) and left us unfortunately with a lower opinion of the hotel front desk staff.

Room Tip: rare Triple room (nice for families); ask for room with view of the church if possible
