Met some good friends for dinner our first night in Paris.

The service was a little spotty as they seemed to be overwhelmed during the dinner rush. It was hard to get the attention of the waiters to take our drink and dinner order. Took a long time to get drinks.

The food was good but not spectacular. Instead of butter, they served some sort of spread for the bread, not sure what it was and it was different.

Nothing memorable about the meal. The onion soup was okay. The seafood was okay. The cure ham, cooked ham and assorted pate plate was okay.

I would hate to see what the place is like very late at night or early in the morning.

This place, unsurprisingly, specialized in hamhocks and other delicious pig bits, but we decided to eat here after passing their gorgeous seafood counter on the street. I was particularly drawn to their huge langoustines.

In the US, langoustines are usually just really big shrimp, but in Europe, and in reality, they are more like a very small lobster. They have all the tasty bits as a lobster, and gram for gram cost about 60% less. They gave us seven, and along with a slab of fois gras, and some rose, it made for a great lunch.

Everything was excellent: food, wine, atmosphere. Try their "Au Pied de Cochon. There is also a kids menu at an affordable price.

If you are interested in a very nice meal with excellent service, lovely street side oysters..
Not a discount eatery but well worth the price.
Really, try the pig shaped desert, so yummy.

They say that Julia Child went here for onion soup! That is what they are using to attract tourists! But I am certain she would NOT enjoy this onion soup! It was an insipid broth, filled with bread and not much cheese. The rest of the meal was mediocre and way over-priced for the quality! The restaurant was full but not with locals!
