Description: The Brasserie was established in 1870 and has been serving continuously since. It has become a Paris tradition, for Parisians and other friends from all over the world. The decor has been kept and the traditional french food is authentic and home made with only fresh products. Located in the most romantic and beautiful area, on the small island by Notre Dame right in the heart of the old Paris. The Brasserie will welcome you in a warm and cosy Parisian atmosphere in winter, while in summer you will enjoy a drink or a meal as well as the island's famous Berthillon ice cream on the terrace with its magnificent view of Paris. We serve from noon to 11pm (close on Wednesdays) and we do not take reservations so come whenever you want. We hope that you will enjoy our restaurant and we hope to see you soon.

We stumbled across this restaurant when we were meandering around L'Isle St Louis and felt a little peckish. It immediately grabbed us because there were many locals there and it was noisy and busy with mounded plates flying past smelling wonderful. We were fortunate to get a table as it was the busiest lunch of the week, Sunday.

The brasserie was very authentic in appearance, which I loved, and the food was great! So nice to see food that isn't pretentious - just hearty and filling as well as delicious.I will certainly go back.

I think some of the reviews I have just read on here really don't get that this too is Paris - go with the flow and enjoy it, no expectations and vive la difference!

We only came here for a drink, but noticed that people (mainly locals) were tucking in to good helpings of comfort food as it was pretty cold outside. The place filled up quickly after our arrival - lunchtime. The staff were friendly and efficient.

I was surprised to see some negative reviews, but we had no problems at all. In fact, I had left 2 postcards (remember them?) on the table when we left and when I went back a few minutes later to collect them, the Manager said that he was about to post them for us as he saw they had been completed and had stamps on! Very impressive.

We visited this restaurant yesterday for lunch, and could not regret it more. Our waitor was hostile and rude, and the level of service was below zero. First, my husband got a knife that had been used before. Then, we received a bread basket with bread that was both burned and completely dried out, and had obviously been seized several hours ago. Still, we ate it. Then we asked if we could have a baguette - the waiter just grinned and answered "we don't have baguettes". Then he left. Several of the waiters were also rude towards other guests, and clearly most of the people around us were dissatisfied and looked forward to leaving. Never, ever go here!

We visited for a drink as it was so attractive with the pictures on the windows. The pictures reminded us of the pub in the film Beauty and the beast and in Disney Florida. Inside it was just a quiet cafe which was surprising in such a great location. Only had drinks

We visited this place and thought: what a nice place. But we were wrong.
1) terrible service
2) we had lipstick on a wineglass twice And were snitched on. They said it was the washing machine, but I personally don’t think that it washes with red lipstick.
3) unfriendly staff
4) no recommadation for anybody else this place was terrible and way overpriced.
