This place was amazing to stay, I went with 5 friends and the size of the apartment was adequate not to big, not to small! Everything was easy to use in the apartment and we had a very nice welcome. The apartment is in the heart of Paris and was very close to a the metro, which was also very easy to navigate. The Host was very nice and very easily contactable and helped in every way he could. I would definitely use this apartment again :-)
The location can not be beat. We found most of the city sites to be close enough to walk with two children (aged 9 and 6). Major metro stops are also very close. One street over is Rue Montorgueil which is a pedestrian road filled with small bread, cheese, fruit, seafood shops, and restaurants. Several grocery stores were conveniently close as well. On Sundays the street in front of the apartment is turned into a farmer's market.
We stayed in the apartment shortly after the most recent renovations (3/2014). The new bathroom is fantastic and includes a tub/shower combo (standup showers still seem rare in France and we were pleased to find one here), a towel warmer, and the other standard amenities.
Checkin was very easy. We were greeted by an English-speaking representative and walked through the details of the apartment.
The second bedroom is fairly small, but we were able to have both of our kids in there - one on a twin bed, one in a pull out trundle. There is also a pull out sofa downstairs which could easily have suited the second child, or another couple.
One note is that it is a very open layout so privacy is a bit restricted. The large bed is on a loft overlooking the living space so couples in the main bedroom and pullout couch will be fairly close together without doors. The one bathroom is just past the main bedroom so guests sleeping on the pullout will be walking through the main bedroom to use the bathroom. The small bedroom does have a door.
The apartment management was very easy to work with and communicative throughout the process. All the agreements were clear, as were the steps in the process from initial deposit through final checkout. They also included a handy guide to all of the appliances in the apartment, and a some helpful tips for the area (locations of groceries, restaurants, etc.).

Yes, it is a perfect location, walking distance from the Louvre and the Tuileries gardens, the Pompidou Centre, Notre Dame, the river, the Palais Royal and its gardens, market in the street below on Sunday, lovely food shops and cafes and restaurants nearby, playground for small children at Les Halles (we had three, 3 - 8 years old), one for older children with rather strict rules imposed by play leaders (I can now explain them if anyone needs to know), lovely church St Eustache alongside. Quantities of heavy towels, fresh cotton sheets and pillows, endless hot water, lovely bath, reasonable kitchen (small, no dishwasher, baffling washer/dryer, few surfaces for preparation, good quality pans and huge useful frying pan).
Steep climb up three flights of narrow, grubby stairs, with more stairs inside the apartment door - very tiny second bedroom - long droopy curtains with missing tie-backs in living room, so had to be careful not to trip over them - strange uneven mats laid over the carpet offering further tripping opportunities - absolutely no hooks for coats and scarves and bags, so they had to be dumped in a messy heap (would be SO easy to attach hooks to the wall at the top of the stairs inside the apartment) - no advice about what to do with rubbish (we found a poubelle on ground floor inside a cupboard and left bags of rubbish there).
I was uncomfortable about having to supply my credit card details including the security code not only to James Burgess, the owner of the apartment, but also to his employee who greeted us, charming young woman with fluent English - but I have never had to do this before in decades of renting rooms all over Europe and Asia.
All in all, a comfortable place to stay if you can manage the stairs and don't expect a dishwasher.
