Description: Bold, new and spectacular, the KONG was born on May 26th 2003. From the kitchen, decor and music, nothing was left untouched to ensure the success of this UFO that landed on the rooftops of Paris. Laurent Taieb dreamt up this creation, he hardly slept and still doesn't, in order to ensure the smooth running of his beautiful machine. From the very beginning, he has always been accompanied by his faithful talented team. 10 Years later, the daring and hard work has paid off with friends and success waiting in the wings : Philippe Starck took care of the decor, Richard Pommies, the kitchen, Beatrice Ardisson, the decks, and finally Ara Starck, the paintbrushes ! The atmosphere of the KONG bar entwines both the intimate character of a cocktail bar with the refinement and elegance of a luxury hotel bar. KONG infuses a mixture of a relaxed and elegant, classy and entertaining, lively and friendly atmosphere. On the 5th floor of a Haussmann building, every window boasts a different view: the Pont Neuf, Henri Sauvage's Art Deco design of the Samaritan building, Art Nouveau by Frantz Jourdain, the Seine, the Louis Vuitton HQ... On May 26th 2013, KONG was renovated, restored, refurbished and restyled to celebrate a decade of success and to enjoy the next decade in style and of course, good company.

Service was very slow as we were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours, however the food was nice. Despite this, the food is defiantly over priced as it is nothing dramatically special just good food. The location itself of the restaurant though is very aesthetically pleasing and definitely added to the experience. I think the only reason they charge such high prices for food is not due to the quality but purely for the restaurants location and design.

Went for birthday dinner. Food was okay. Great atmosphere, good for apps and drinks. It’s not a fine dining experience but that’s ok. Nice Bar.

On our way back from Notre Dame my girlfriend noticed the sign of that restaurant bar as it’s quite popular. We didn’t expect that there would be seats available but we wanted to give it a try.
We went up to the 5th floor by elevator where we were welcomed very friendly (I have to admit that we were not dressed like tourists coming from a sightseeing tour). We asked for a table and that we wanted to drink something. The receptionist accompanied us to the table that was almost at the front next to the windows with the best view. At this time in the afternoon the place wasn’t crowded. Mainly young (rich) Chinese guests that were busy taking pictures all the time. Even if they were sitting at other tables behind us, they came next to our table to take pictures. Might be annoying but for us it was fun to watch and listening to the girls complaining to their boyfriends that they were not happy with the pictures they had taken.

We had two coffee and shared a „Saint Germain Spritz“ for 30€. Of course, you pay for the view.

For us it was a an opportunity to relax a little bit from the crowds of tourists outside near Notre Dame and enjoy the nice view of Pont Neuf.

We came to celebrate a birthday party. Food was okay but the music was quite loud so it was hard to speak to the next person.
Although the waitress service was very disappointing. I asked her for the surprise birthday cake with a candle 3 times: first when we took the table, then when we ordered desserts, and another time when she said that they ran out chocolate cakes. At the end we got our cakes and zero candles.
I can say it ruined the dinner and total impression was very poor.

We went there in March with a couple.
The location is amazing, exclusive and fashionable.
The food is well presented, but not so special , tasty and delicious, compared to the price.
We did not appreciated a lot the small tables, on which you can't fit even the bread.
If you want to enjoy the great place, I would recommend the Kong, but the menù selection and the quality is not worth.
