First off, the location. It's inside the castle walls, hard to beat that! Not exactly close to the entrance, but not a long walk either. Was very cool to stay inside the walls, after dinner the crowds completely disperse and there is barely anyone walking around the medieval town.
Secondly, and probably should be first, the owner was terrific. We arrived before the check-in time, but he let us in anyways, was very funny and pleasant, stowed our bags, gave us a key, and when we returned after lunch and walking around la Cite', he had brought out bags upstairs to the room. We overslept breakfast the next day, but were able to grab a few croissants and some juice. Only stayed one night. He offered us a ride outside the Cite' walls after checkout so we didn't have to drag our bags through the crowds over the cobblestones.
Room was fine. We booked fairly late so booked a room with both a bed and a bunkbed despite being just two of us. Window opened wide to a private garden which had grapes growing in it. Nothing luxurious, but we were only there to sleep, spent the rest of the time exploring the castle.More
