The good news is that it's free. The bad news is that it's more of a park than a zoo. You'll do a lot of walking and see very, very few animals. If you just want to spend a day outside walking around a nice park, it's great. If you really want to be at a zoo and see critters, it's not really that thrilling.

This is a great alternative to the Sigean Safari Park. It is free to get in, although you do have to pay for the Rain Forest section.

Spent the morning in the zoo with the family on a recent trip. Don't get me wrong, you can't beat the fact that it's free to enter the main zoo, but in the warm sun there was a lot of walking, and hills, to see not very many animals.
Animals looked happy, well I think the rhino's looked happy... and were in decent sized enclosures, but I'd say this is a nice, slightly taxing (with a pushchair) walk, with the added bonus of some wild beasts thrown in. It wasn't quite what I was expecting.
Didn't do the optional paid entry section, which I now regret having read other reviews. Oh well...

A free zoo set in a forest is a fantastic day out, but as I say if the day is a little warm (or 40 odd degrees in our case) the animals wisely hide in the shade well away from sight. Still get to see a lot of interesting animals and I do suggest doing the amazon zone for about 20 euros. If you time it right, you might see the crocs being fed mice!

Restaurant is worth the money as there are set menu options and the staff are lovely. Gift shop is well stocked with interesting nick nacks!

A fantastic day had by all.
