Greeted by very friendly staff, was told that adjoining restaurant was fully booked for the evening but reception called and managed to squeeze me in where I had an exceptional meal of fois gras and tender sirloin steak washed down with an excellent bottle of local red wine, room spacious and very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the canal de midi, if you are looking for a stopover in the narbonne area l strongly recommend this establishment

Beautiful location and good facilities. The parrot kept in a cage near the entrance, however, showed many signs of distress. She had plucked herself bald in some places, and occasionally displayed sudden aggression. Parrots are intelligent, sensitive animals that require a great deal of care. They need daily exercise and time outside as well as socialization (occasional interactions with guests they will never see again is not sufficient). She did have food, clean water and some toys. If, however, her owners are not able/willing to give her the rest they should look to re-home her with someone who can or give her to a bird sanctuary.

We stayed at the Clarion for seven nights while checking out Narbonne for a permanent move there next year. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and remembered our name every morning at breakfast! They spoke English and we practiced our French as well. They inquired about restaurants that were open on Sunday evening for us, and called a taxi for us on the morning we left. We also loved the canal walk from the hotel to the city center. It is an easy one mile walk. We will certainly stay there again, and recommend to our friends when we move there. And, thanks for the freshly squeezed orange juice every morning!

Room tip: Top floor was very quiet.

We brought two groups of cyclists here during our tour of Catalonya. Since people rode their bicycles 54 miles (90 Kilometers) to get to Narbonne we knew we needed to provide a welcoming and comfortable place. And the Ile Du Gua delivered. All of the rooms are huge with Jacuzzi tubs and a kitchenette area. The outdoor areas are too large to call a balcony - perhaps a terrace would be more appropriate, complete with lounges. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean. The staff are professional, welcoming and helpful.

Breakfasts included freshly squeezed orange juice along with all the other usual offerings. Everything was fresh and of good quality.

Several members of our group made use of their kitchens after visiting Les Halles - the really superb market in Narbonne. What a great option!

The setting along the canal is tranquil and beautiful and a pretty 15 minute walk to the heart of Narbonne. It is the only place to stay when visiting this charming town.

Really odd place with strange design. Depp burgundy is the main colour throughout - doors ,carpets ,lifts etc . Rooms are quite spacious but have a real cheap feel . Stone basin in bathroom just doesn't match the décor and looks to be a job lot !
Bed was Ok - stayed in a suite, but most of the room taken up by a Jacuzzi .Nice terrace .
Woken up by trains hooting every 10 mins from 4.30am !
Breakfast for 17 euros each was basic and no GF options.
At 220 euros per room I don't think this is decent value . Car park is free though !
The gym is a joke ,just 2 running machines in a corridor outside some rooms on the third floor- pity the poor guests !
