Quite a small space, into which we were welcomed warmly, with helpful information about the food and drink available.

The food was good, if not quite memorable. Pricing seemed very reasonable.

This small restaurant with a limited menu was great value for money. The menu at 25€ offered some really difficult choices. The warm goat's cheese starter was delicious as was the main course - duck cooked three ways. The chocolate mousse was the best I have ever tasted and the mango kiwi and marscapone dessert was equally good. The wine complemented the food and all in all this was a memorable meal. You are advised to book as this place is bound to get more popular.

Walking in the old city, we stopped in here for an early lunch. There was only one other customer, but by the time we left, it was full, and people were waiting for tables. An excellent meal. Good service. Great value.

We're staying with a friend who lives near here but she had not tried Le Papillion before. It is compact and in a small street in the Old Town. The walk is a joy because this is such a pretty town.

We were amazed at how few people were there last night. This was very good, well presented home-cooking, the sort of restaurant you yearn to find anywhere.

We started with a foie gras, clearly prepared by the chef himself and served with a small apple compote; it was delicious and would have been very acceptable at a Michelin two star restaurant. Presentation is good Bistrot, attractive but not overly prettified.

We all had a different main and they were fresh, excellently presented and very good flavours. Mine, a casserole, was first class - the sort of food I could happily eat all week. Not a sophisticated dish but excellent taste. My wife ate the duck and our friends the fillets of red mullet with a delicate orange sauce. There will be different dishes when you go, AND PLEASE DO GO, because the chef/patron cooks fresh dishes each day depending on what the market has to offer.

Good service, attentive but not intrusive.

We all had pudding and again it was better than expected.

The real surprise was the bill: this should have cost much more than it did - it is exceptional value.

Bonne chance, Papillion, et a tous qui habitent Albi, allez-y, ca vaut vraiement la peine.

Located in one of the more quiet streets of the historic center of Albi, Le Papillon offers a peaceful setting for a delicious meal. We had lunch here, and the food was excellent and prices very reasonable, a 3 course lunch menu cost 15€. Highly recommended!
