Le Lion d'Or was a great place to stay as part of our 25th anniversary vacation. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar is full of history and a great place to relax. Dinner at the restaurant was also excellent. Just a short walk from the train station and located right in the middle of town. Great place to stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a Travel Editions holiday. The hotel was excellent from check in to check out. The staff were really friendly ,breakfasts and dinners really good and our room very comfortable and spotless. There is a lovely log fire in the lounge where we were able to enjoy a pastis before dinner. Would definitely stay here again

Room tip: Room 22 is quiet, more like a suite with views over the courtyard

Found this Hotel to be very clean and run very professionally. Detail to attention is everywhere. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. Downstairs there is a reading room with a fireplace and comfortable chairs to just relax. The restaurant is very good from the breakfast in the a.m. to the Dinner in the P.M. The man who runs this is very hard working, enjoyable and caterers to your needs. The Hotel is at the end of the Center of town and recessed so there is no noise. You are literally in the town of Bayeux, everything is within walking distance. If you have a car there is limited parking. Great place, Great Value....I asked the nice woman behind the desk how long she has been working at the Hotel, her reply say's it all - 22years. Enjoy!

I organized a Normandy trip for my boyfriend who is a big WW2 buff, to visit the D-day coasts and enjoyed the Normandy cozy atmosphere.
I booked a 3 night - 1 dinner package in 'Le Lion d'Or' as it seemed to be a place of character, well placed within Bayeux. This place happened to be far beyond our expectations !!! Best choice ever!
The food was absolutely amazing, delicate, tasty and unconventional. All our praise to the Chef that transformed our getaway into a memorable culinary experience - don't waste your time eating anywhere else, it won't beat Le Lion d' Or.
The bedroom was completely new. Spacious and cozy, with a stylish decoration and a comfy bed that we badly needed after our day long errands to visit the historical sites and awesome bathroom with bathtub and pleasant view over the city. This hotel ideal location right in the city center, allow for quick access to the city life and attraction (museums) all within walking distance.
The place is quiet, and seemed to be visited mainly by business and history focused people, no screaming children, that was a bless!
Finally, the staff is more than lovely. They accommodated our special requests, providing us with extras such as umbrella, and all little details needed to make our experience unique.
Would definitely come back here!

Stayed here in cold, rainy February. Hotel was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful and polite. Paid a little extra for parking in the horel courtyard, which I highly recommend- Parking nearby is very difficult. Since it was so rainy, I didn’t feel like walking out for dinner, so I made reservations for the hotel dining room. Dinner was excellent. A large selection of Norman specialties, including a cheese board at the end with cheeses from across Normandy. I heartily recommend this hotel!
