My rating is not based on the fact that this is a 5 star hotel. It is perfect for what it is - a small centrally located hotel with excellent service. The staff is very welcoming and accommodates your wishes. They reserved excellent restaurants for us and provided help with the area. The rooms are very small but clean. The guest room amenities are basic and adequate. The breakfast is plentiful and the bar service is as well. Highly recommended for the D-Day area.

Hotel d'Argouges was a delightful place to stay during our tours of the Normandy area. Quintessential outside-of-Paris hotel, with charming rooms and a beautiful rear outside sitting area. No elevator, if that is a consideration. Within walking distance of everything in Bayeux including outstanding restaurants. On-site parking (yes, you have to drive through the very narrow entrance), wonderful breakfast and friendly and caring staff. The Saturday Market in Bayeux is immediately outside the entrance to the hotel. You will be given a room key, not a proxy card. This is a charming hotel we will frequent again.

From the minute we arrived at the Hotel d'Argouges, my husband and I were welcomed and made to feel at home by Frederick and Caroline. Both went out of their way to accommodate our wishes and needs. They helped with taxis, day tours, directions, reservations at restaurants and answered dozens of questions from my husband and I on a daily basis. Beautiful room with a lovely view out to the back patio. The breakfasts were awesome and such excellent service from the lady who was there every day to fill our coffee cups, take care of our personal needs and make sure everything was perfect. We really appreciated her excellent service every morning. Thank-you, for such a wonderful experience.

Room tip: Lovely room and everything was clean and well-furnished. It took us a day to figure out that the lights were on automatic turnoff. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

A delightful two night stay in November. Quaint, spotlessly clean, charming Inn with a pleasant and helpful staff. Beautiful garden area and yummy breakfast. Free wifi. Right in the heart of downtown Bayeux. Don't miss this place!

There are many things to like about this hotel. The front desk is very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. The rooms are a decent size but not lavish. They have parking which is very important. Everything in Bayeux is within walking distance. And they have a fantastic breakfast. It's also very convenient to the WWII sites that you would want to visit.

Room tip: There is no elevator, so try for one of the lower floors.
