Owner description: Situated near the British Military Cemetery of Bayeux, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy narrates the battles which took place in Normandy after the D-Day landings, between 7th June and 29th August 1944. The collections of military equipment, the diorama and the archival films allow the visitor to grasp the enormous effort made during this decisive battle in order to restore peace in Europe.

This museum in Bayeux is one of many covering the D-day landing and related aspects of the WW2 landing and following events. This one has more equipment, tanks artillery etc. maybe better for the kids and the military enthusiasts.
We (an Australian couple) found the Caen memorial the best and most informative of the venues, and then the American cemetery at Omaha beach a very moving experience.

it was a bit of a walk from the centre of Bayeux, the content was a little dry, but the film was excellent

Excellent detailed history of the D-Day landings and the subsequent few weeks of fighting.

The film show was worth the visit without the actual physical exhibition.

The Museum is a short hike through town and onto the Ring Road. The film was shown in English and in French and was extremely well done. This really helped with understanding the sequence of events with the Battle of Normandy. The museum itself was disappointing with exhibits arranged in a confusing manner that required a great deal of reading.

Small museum packed with content. They have more testing than most museums which was a pleasant change. Good movie shown that is 30 minutes long.

Easy walk from the train station or cathedral area.
