Away from the hustle & bustle of the port, Bacaretto was warm, quirky & authentically French - on that note, this is a great place to practice your French. Both the owners speak a little English but are very supportive of learners (like me!) The menu was spread across little blackboards, scattered throughout the restaurant. A petit library on the walls and a collage of random prints complemented by empty bottles - it is all so random but really makes you feel relaxed & at home - it's down to earth. Food is fresh, inspired by home cooking and full of flavours. Drinks work on a 'surprise' basis, with new 'drops' being served every week/month. Great galettes, scrumptious crepes (choose from salted caramel of peppered chocolate!) & juicy seafood. Put it on your list if you are coming to Honfleur - and dont be put of by the humble exterior and interior - this place is memorable.
