Currently staying at the Renaissance Aix. Very recently built 5 star hotel in a great location- 10 minute easy walk from the 1 rotunda. Rooms are spacious, and well appointed. Rating wise: It's more a superior first class 4+ star hotel than a 5 star. Definitely the new dig in town.

Stayed there in mid-November and a great option for those seeking spacious rooms with other amenities like a pool, restaurant, and spa. It is primarily caters to the business traveler but was a great midpoint in our France travels and helped us recharge via a great spa massage and sleeping in a large bed and room. The hotel is a 10min walk from the train or bus station but you should take the time to get precise directions. We ended up at the bottom of the hill rear of the hotel by just navigating from a simple map. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. Though not a cheap option, a great choice for travelers wanting a short respite from the typical small French hotel rooms.

We stayed at the Renaissance Aix en Provence for a total of 3 nights.
From the minute we entered the hotel we were greeted in a most friendly way by the staff, which took care of us expeditiously.
It was a feeling which I did not experience in other hotels in France.
The hotel itself is modern with beautiful rooms and public areas.
We had breakfast in the mornings which was way beyond our expectations. The staff at the restaurant was also great and helpful.
I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aix either for business or pleasure.

We had high expectations as friends loved it and it has reviews but it shattered them in a good way. I used points for two adjoining rooms for 5 nights. The location is great- less than 10 minutes walk to the main part of town. It is brand new with great art. The rooms were spacious with decent sized bathrooms; the toiletries were standard- I had hoped for better. The bed was very, very comfortable. The outdoor space was lovely- especially the garden area on a nice day.
I am Marriott Platinum so the breakfast was included; breakfast was great and not too crowded- there were different options and the food was delicious. There is no lounge. The rate also included Wi-Fi, which worked well in the lobby and was better in one room than the other.
All of the staff were wonderful and made you feel appreciated and welcome- absolutely great service. The concierge Jakob was fabulous. He recommended great restaurants and tours; he arranged for a wonderful private wine tour. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very satisfied to find a modern hotel nearby the old city that is affiliated with the Marriott chain and lives up to and exceeds their standards. Rooms and baths are modern and large and well appointed. Concierge Jakob was extremely professional, knowledgeable and assisted with café and restaurant suggestions for us. The old city is an easy 10 minute walk, but the highway is quite busy and the French do like their fast cars! There is a very nice, quiet garden at the rear of the hotel and good views of the hills and old town from the balcony. The breakfast service could be a little more attentive, getting a re-fill on coffee was a challenge.
