I thought some of the reviewers were mixed up and reviewing a completely different hotel, especially when I read that it had a pool, sorry, no pool at this hotel. When I looked at the website again, the photos make the place look really good, I now wonder if we were given a dodgy room. We even joked that we imagined being in one of those cartoons when you are in a hospital bed and it folds up with you in it, it was so bad. It had spider webs and dead bugs on the wall, you had to climb in one end if you wanted to use the bath as it was walled on 3 sides, but then they dont supply a bath plug so that is out. The toilet was once shared with hallway access, it now has the door blocked to the hallway and a new door in the room to make it more ensuite effect, but now the toilet is hard to use given its position with door change. Yes we had a balcony but it was very noisy in the early morning, probably in the back would be preferable. The guy who greeted us was charming but I would never dream of staying here again and certainly wouldnt recommend it and I think that is a first for me.

First of all I want to thank the stuff, we checked in too early, but our room was ready in 15min; this tiny hotel has an elevator, which is big plus for those who needs it (lots of luggages etc.), and another big plus - wifi everythere; the room was for 2 pers, not so big, but very comfortable, with air conditioning (which is very important in july), big bed and very big wardrobe (also important for 2 girls).
Every morning ate classic breakfast - croissants, jams, honey, nutella, coffee/cacao/orange juice, which was as the breakfast pretty good.
Opposite to hotel there is a free parking place, where we put our car.
Place is near to centre, 10-15min walk to some supermarkets.
On our first day we were looking for a place, where to eat a dinner, went through all the places in Apt, and none was with menu for one evening. Then we saw that our hotel has a reastaurant too - every evening there is a different menu, which means that products are fresh, bought in the morning. Next two evenings we went to this hotel's reastaurant, we had great seat on a terace, a chef translated us the menu, we ordered one plate of 3 (not all menu) calf meat with vegetables, and it was very very good! Medium cooked meat, with warm salads and vegetables, just for 14.5€; next day we also went to this nice reastaurant and ordered a lamb - and it was also undescrible, very dealicious!
We are so thankful to our chef!

Nice hotel, nice pool and comfortable room with balcony overlooking mountains at back of hotel. Breakfast was basic. Hotel located out of town and not walking distance into town. Staff friendly and helpful. Town of Apt nice and quaint shops

My husband and I cycled for a week in Provence and used both Lourmarin and Apt as places from which to explore. Coming from Lourmarine, Apt was a little disappointing. This hotel added to our sentiments.

We booked Luberon L'Hotel based on other travelers reviews specifically related to the friendliness of the staff (as we were considering 2 other options). We arrived (after by long hard ride over the Luberon) at 2:30 desperate to get off our bikes and into a cool environment - only to learn that the hotel didn't open its doors until 3pm (which typically wouldn't have been a problem but just one of the things that continued to add up). We had a drink at the cafe next door and waited. We were concerned that being on such a busy street would make for a noisy night but asked for a room at the back of the building which turned out to be very quiet. When the man arrived to let us in - he was very friendly and helpful getting our bikes into the basement and getting us acquainted to the wifi and pass codes etc. He also provided us with a recommendations of places to eat in both Apt and in the surrounding villages. He photocopied the area map so we could find our way into town. So far so good (everything we had heard on tripadvisor).

The room itself was more spacious than any we had seen in France but was outdated. The air conditioning worked well (until we had a shower) but the windows opened up to look over an expanse of green-space.

Town was a further walk than we had anticipated (15min) but felt relatively safe. After a second day of bike tripping we returned to our room with a bottle of rose. Looking for both a hair dryer and ice we sought out staff who were able to help with a blow dryer but not ice (?). We were sent to the restaurant next door. The restaurant next door was clearly not impressed that we were looking for ice and was in fact, pretty rude about it and refused to give us any. The staff (not the same man we initially dealt with) said nothing when we returned with the answer. The next morning we decided at the last minute to have breakfast at the hotel rather than having to walk into town to find something (the bakery next door was closed) only to learn that breakfast was over as of 9:15am and we would have to go somewhere else.

It may be unfair of us to be critical but with so many other options at a relatively minimal price differential we were disappointed with our experiences in Apt in general.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, avoid the restaurant next door (there is clearly an issue there) and don't go to the closest restaurant that is suggested by the hotel (the waitress was not happy to be serving us without a reservation).
