Hôtel Le Palais
Here is a nice little two-star hotel in a great little town for exploring the Luberon. Run by a hard working, helpful and friendly couple who also run a popular restaurant (La Cuisine au Feu de Bois) on the ground floor in their spare time. Good breakfast. Reserve early to get one of the rooms with windows or balcony facing a public square with the Mairie opposite, where there is a weekly market on Saturday. My wife and I had a room opening on an interior space which as little gloomy, but we were usually out touring during the day. When we returned we would sit on the balcony of the breakfast room over looking the square for a glass of wine before dinner. There is guest refrigerator. Several restaurants on the square and more one block north on another square. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Book early to get room overlooking square.

The friendliness here was amazing. Maybe not the most stylish place in Provence but probably best value for the money. We had a great time and our kids loved the staff.

Breakfast the day after was free for kids and only €5 for adults.

Arrived by MTB for one night on the road to Compostella . Desk boy was very nice and helpful. Room was with a terrace , clean and large. Location is right at city center. No negatives at all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Apt.

Room Tip: Second floor with balcony

This is a basic budget hotel, one step up from a hostel. But it is very clean and very friendly. The room we stayed in looked out on a slightly scruffy upstairs courtyard but this did make it quiet. Breakfast cheap and finend the breakfast room is very pleasant and has huge range of books and games. Cyclists can have their bikes locked inside reception, a little cramped....but it works. Parking not so easy as it's limited opposite the hotel and you need to move the car at 8am, unless you have disc (which apparently is provided by the car hire firm...ours hadn't). But the welcome and helpfulness of staff and the budget price make it worth considering.

We arrived late afternoon in Apt and were lucky to get the last available room at Hotel Le Palais. This was a small room at the top of the stairs (the owner carried up my heavy suitcase - Merci Beaucoup!). The room was basic but clean, sweet and cosy and very reasonably priced. A lovely, old fashioned hotel.

I stayed here on a recent cycling trip round the Luberon. The building is old, with lots of original features, exposed beams and such like. The owners are very helpful - quite happy to store a bike in reception! - and the single room I had was well furnished and very pleasant. Good WiFi was an unexpected bonus too. Great place!

We wanted a small, old, family-operated hotel in the center of a small, but not tiny, town, and we got it--and more. The young owners really enjoy their work and made us feel like we were were returning home each day. We requested a balcony room and got one overlooking the square--a great place to watch the activity, especially on Saturday (market day) mornings. Their breakfasts (a bargain at 5 euros) can't be beat and Amandine makes the BEST LEMON TART ever at their convenient next door restaurant. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: We liked sleeping with the balcony doors open, so we heard the early morning trash collectors and st...
