In the middle of the night we had another guest gain access to our room. It was very very scary and when I called the front desk all they could say was they were sorry for giving these men access to our room. I appreciate the apology but it's not doing much for me as I lie awake listening to every sound. I will not stay here again, ever. To hot, to stuffy, most importantly not safe.

Recently returned from a four day stay at this hotel as part of a Provence holiday. The hotel is in a great central location in the lovely city of Avignon. It is on a very busy road and although our room was at the front it was well insulated from noise. The hotel looks like it was constructed in the 1960's and has that typical characterless appearance. Rooms were very spacious with a separate lounge area which gave them an apartment type feel. Public areas were quite impressive but corridors looked tired and needed redecoration. There was no restaurant but a dining room for serving breakfast which again needed refurbishment. Breakfast was adequate but there was often items that had run out. Roof top pool/ solarium was a fairly small area and the tiny pool was absolutely freezing so that was disappointing for my teenage children. All staff including cleaners were very polite, friendly and they were professional in their work. In my opinion it seemed more like a hotel for business people rather than holidaymakers.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much to take some of your time to share your opinion with us after your stay at the AVIGNON GRAND HOTEL.
We will continue our complete refurbishment program of our lobby and corridor from october which we are sure you will truly enjoy. For your information, the hotel was built in 2000 (not in 1960).
Looking forward to welcome you again, I can assure you of our best endeavour to make your next stay a most agreeable one.
Sincerely yours,

Just outside the city walls, Avignon Grand Hotel is the perfect location for enjoying this wonderful medieval town without the flaws to live just in the centre. A stay in this beautiful and confortable hotel means to have parking (15 euros by day just behind the corner but with a direct lift), big and modern rooms, a stable and strong wi-fi connection, a tasty and various continental breakfast. Not farer than 10 minutes walking from Popes' palace. The price is absolutely correct for the offered service

The room was lovely, with a separate sitting area which you could block off with a sliding door. Would have been good to have a table and chairs to make the most of the terrace outside. Walked up to the rooftop terrace to the tiny and freezing pool - definitely not worth the effort!

Very large rooms, around 40 m2. Clean. Comfortable beds.
Good location near the entrance of the old Town and right by the train station. Easy parking for a reasonable fee.
Small swimming pool on the roof does the trick after a day walking the old Town.
Excellent breakfast for 10 EUR pre-paid.

Very reasonably priced hotel. Highly recommended. From there, you will only walk. No longer need a car or public transportation to visit the old Town.
