Charming, artsy, spacious, tucked away on tiny street in the old section. A wonderful sanctuary from the excitement of the city. There is a great sidewalk cafe just steps away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. But being deep in the warren of narrow streets of the old city, don't even think of trying to drive there.

A calm and elegant oasis in the heart of Avignon near Le Palais des Papes and Le Pont d'Avignon . A perfect place to recharge after a hectic day of touring with many great restaurants nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

La Banasterie is a historic guest house in a terrific location in Avignon. Our room had a balcony overlooking the little courtyard. You get complimentary chocolates in your room. The decor looks like it is out of a magazine, only better. The hosts, Tanguy and Caroline went above and beyond. They booked a nearby restaurant for us which served some of the best food we had on our trip (and this is France!). I wanted to move in permanently.

La Banasterie is located within walking distance from the central train station and all of the main sights. My fiancé and I were greeted by Tanguy - the extremely friendly and helpful host - who gave us a tour of his charming property before showing us to our room. We stayed in Criollo which has its own terrace, ideal for a glass of wine after an afternoon exploring the city. The breakfast (fresh coffee, juice, a fruit salad plus a generous selection of bread/pastries) was perfectly adequate. Would recommend to others.

My wife and I stayed at La Banasterie for a week last month to celebrate our anniversary. The room (Quetzcoatl) was more like a suite, with a two rooms and our own private balcony. The location could not have been better, probably a two minute walk to the Palais des Papes, and many good restaurants within a five minute walk. Our host, Tanguy, was most gracious and very helpful in recommending restaurants, making reservations for us, and even scheduling a taxi. He was a great host, very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was light and fresh, perfect to prepare for a long day of sightseeing. I can't say enough about La Banasterie. One warning, this is a 500 year-old house with narrow stairs and no lift. But if stairs are not a problem this is the place to go.

Thanks Tanguy!
