We called ahead to discuss our order for paella and Amando kindly assisted us on the detail of the ingredients and the level of spiciness which we preferred. Preparation time was around 40 minutes, giving us plenty of time to walk from our apartment and enjoy a relaxing carafe of the local rosé while the meal was being prepared.
The paella was excellent, throughout, the calamari being especially cooked to perfection, as were the various other meats and gambas.
Amando is a genial and engaging host and the whole evening was most enjoyable. We
expect to return to sample the various other dishes on the interesting menu. We have no hesitation in recommending L'Ecureuil Espagnol for a quality dining experience.
