We called ahead to discuss our order for paella and Amando kindly assisted us on the detail of the ingredients and the level of spiciness which we preferred. Preparation time was around 40 minutes, giving us plenty of time to walk from our apartment and enjoy a relaxing carafe of the local rosé while the meal was being prepared.
The paella was excellent, throughout, the calamari being especially cooked to perfection, as were the various other meats and gambas.
Amando is a genial and engaging host and the whole evening was most enjoyable. We
expect to return to sample the various other dishes on the interesting menu. We have no hesitation in recommending L'Ecureuil Espagnol for a quality dining experience.

The idea was another place but we they the feeling.... great Paella Valenciana with some welcomed spice flavor... very light and very rich at the same time. Very well dosed Sangria, cool and flavored.
We had also the mixed fish tapas waiting the paella. we do recommend, very very delicious
I appreciated even the visit of the chef to verify our feeling... maybe they understood we are Italians....:-))

This restaurant merit a travel

Thanks Amando and team!!!

I've been traveling to Spain since I was 3, 47 years ago, almost every year. This food was the poorest example of Spanish cuisine I've ever experienced and our worst meal in Antibes by far. The tapas sharing plate had slices of sausage chopped up and two slices of Serrano, a tiny amount of cheese. Anyone could do better! The paella was like savoury rice packets with the extras dropped in after, Tesco do a lot better in their meal deal.

A great genuine spanish restaurant in a small beautyful alley. The hosts are very friendly - also to the kidds!
A 'must' dish was CALDERETA ASTURIANA - this was just too good.

This was a very pleasant restaurant with good quality Spanish food in a little lane on the edge of old town Antibes. The people were extremely friendly and we chose the restaurant because it looked significantly better than many of the other restaurants in old town. We were pleased with the selection. The cost was modest.
