“Most suitable for families with children 3+”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2011

I totally agree with the opinion that this place is not suited for babies. A lot of stairs everywhere made it difficult to move around. Except for that, it was very positive with the pool for children, but this was also suitable for children 3+. Also great that you could order a "baby pack" with baby bed, chair in the apartment, and a baby carriage!

Room Tip: A renovated apartment with 2 bedrooms.

I must say I do not agree with the writers who say Villa Francia is terrible. It is ok. The rooms are in need of some upgrading, and some maintenance operations needed are clearly not performed. The apartments are quite small, but the equipment is ok. The reason I would not recommend this place for people travelling with babies are the lack of lifts in an environment full of stairs. We had to cross the parking area several times each day to exit the area, go to the minimarket or restaurant, it was impossible to take the pram to the pool, which was essential for us. If your children can walk, then it is a different story.

The place is a nice walk from the beach, but there are few restaurants around the hotel, so either you must take your car, walk, cook in the apartment or eat in the restaurant at the facility (it has a limited menu).

The sunbeds cost 4 € per halfday, which is expensive in my opinion (but far cheaper than at the beach).

In shirt the inky thing going for this hotel is it's revamped reception area looking out onto the pool. Unfortunately this us where the "revamped" features end.

This hotel needs to be modernized badly. Rooms are cramped with a
look of car boot sale furniture about them. Our bathroom is so dark that we have resorted to finding a torch
so makeup could be applied.

No wifi in rooms only in lobby/restaurant area. Forget about sitting in the lobby an using the
Internet unless you are also buying something from the restaurant
regardless of whether you are a guest, restaurant staff very rudely tell u to leave an forcibly usher u into a room the size if a Prison cell.

Avoid this hotel if you can the price isn't worth the taudy accomDation and greedy slum lord attitude

I've now stayed at the Pierre Vacances Villa Francia a few times - they always have availability during Cannes festivals and conferences - and even though the rooms are dated and cheaply furnished, self-catering and some of the reviews are poor, it's been perfectly fine every time for me. It's got ocean views, a great pool with views over the bay, landscaped gardens and a shuttle service to the centre when conferences are happening...all for around £100 a night for a twin-bed apartment with living room, which is great value.

Travelling with our 5 month old child it took us a day to find out the buggy friendly way from the carpark to the apartment - once we did so was a cinch. As with all P&V resorts the friendliness and courtesy of the staff is really good.

I mixed up 2 rooms with 2 bedrooms when booking and as a result things were a little cramped (even on P&V scale this was a very small apartment). For an extra €40 per week could have had a bigger apart which would ahve been worth it. The kitchenette is well fitted out to cook and stay in if you want.

The pool is wonderful but charges €4 per half day for seats around the pool - did not realise this on booking as the residence is promoted heavily on the view.

Room safe is extra. Parking is extra, Small amount of tax. All in all the extras add c15% to the overall bill and we ended up going to the beach every day due to what would ahve been a €16 charge per day at the pool. About a 20 min walk to the harbour at Cannes along the seafront.

I was put up here for free for a conference I was attending. The only thing this place has going for it is the infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean everything else is suspect.

My suite was okay but the bedroom was facing the walkway so it was ridiculously noisy at all hours. There is no wifi except at the lobby. The staff was terribly unfriendly and the restaurant was simply a joke (don't eat there). The location is not great so if you don't have a car the cost of taxis will get expensive (15-20 Euro to get to the town).

I don't even know what they charge per night for a room but I hazard a guess I would laugh when you told me. There is absolutely no reason to stay here and I wouldn't recommend it if there was.

I agree with Sheila, the last person who posted a review..I had a lovely room over the pool with
a view to the sea..Yes it's abit old,but I found it charming, beautiful grounds and helpful people
at the desk..It's abit out of the city center,in the hills,a walk into town but a shuttle is
available..I would definately
recommend it and go again myself.
