we stopped for lunch, blind selection based on the reasonable prices for plat du jour and the fairly busy venue that says locals enjoy. very nice rose included in the plat du jour which on this day was a selection of osso bucco (proved so popular it had to be replaced about 1pm) salad nicoise or fillet de lieu grilled with mustard sauce. dessert was a choice of chocolate ice cream or creme caramel.
my fish (lieu) was excellent, could easily have stood on its own without the sauce, the nicoise was average with watery dressing and a bit short on egg and tomato. It was obvious the oso bucco was excellent and well known locally by the trade that was done. Service was fine, reasonably quick and smiling and ok with my limited skills in Francais. If you visit Juan Les Pins which is a pretty little beach town, its a very safe bet for lunch with total bill all in 10% under 30 euros.
