“We loved it!”

We had Christmas at a super smart, Relais & Chateaux then headed here for New Year. Les Rosees was, without a doubt, the highlight. The service is so warm and accommodating and the house is beautiful. Go and stay for a few days and you'll see that I'm right. Tell the boys I sent you and you'll get scrambled eggs for breakfast!

Found this hotel through Mr&MrsSmith to was expecting good things however left disappointed.
We arrived late at night so the guest house was difficult to find as its outside of Mougin (not really walking distace even during daylight) up a side road. Very friendly welcome from one one of the guesthouse staff who showed us our lovely if pretty musty room. The style is old world villa rather than anything modern so if you like you Grohe bathroom fittings this is not the place for you. However it has alot of charm despite being a little dark even with blazing sunshine (good for cool rooms - but just a little dank). Bath with handheld shower head wasn't what I was expecting either but again in keeping with the decor.
The breakfast spread and terrace are both very nice however be prepared to strike up conversation with fellow guests as its a pretty cosy space.
The swimming "pool" is a bit of a misnomer - its more of a plunge pool.. and again if fellow guests are around the pool it can feel a little too cramped for comfort.
The main thing that left me with a bad taste was the proprietor of the hotel.. slightly snide and constantly tell you that they want Les Rosees to feel like home however signs in the room remind you its also a business and if for example you bring bottled water into the room you will be charged. Overhearing (not difficult) another guest asking if there was a nearby wine shop he replied that he wasnt sure if there would be one open (Saturday afternoon!) but he could sell them one from his cellar.. etc.. this constant feeling that he was just trying to upsell just makes you uncomfortable; Its very expensive for what you are getting so you would expect pleasant service to be thrown in for free.

The 400 year old family house is tucked away in a residential street and is about a 15 minute steep uphill walk to vielle Mougins or a 5 minute drive. The crunch onto the gravel parking area alerts the young owner who comes bounding down the stone steps to greet you and help with the bags. The interior design and furnishings are in keeping with the style of the house and are very charming. Our Isadora suite, looking out over the garden and pool, is spacious, romantic and very comfortable. Service is very much in the background and someone is never too far away should you need something. Our 3 night stay was an absolute delight and we felt very welcome here. Candles are everywhere - lighting the steps when you return in the evening and even on your breakfast table. If you need to relax this is the place.

We found this place via the "Chic Retreats" website and the booking process was very smooth. The lofty price for the room felt less painfull once we arrived: we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome by the guys, the room was very spacious and it had a high-end finished bathroom - we were completely taken by it. Les Rosées has such charme and style - we loved it. If you look for "grandeur" you might be disappointed. It is a very positively intimate place. if you like it more anonymus, stay in a more anonymus place.
Les Rosées doesn't offer dinner, so we got some local produce (wine, cheese, foie gras etc.) in shops and brought it with us to the Villa. We had only just started our question if....and the shopping bags were taken from us and while we freshened up in our room, a beautifully arrnaged table was set up for us - candlelight dinner 'al fresco' as good as it gets. Service detail - priceless. Another gouple must have been inspired by this, the next evening, we were now 2 couples enjoying this treatment :-)
What definitely worked for us was that we had a good relationship with the operators which was very personal, rather than falling into this usual "me guest - you service provider!" routine, which will most likely not work for you here. If you're open, friendly with some heart and interest, you will be king/queen in this place.
Best regards C&P

This place is a little bit of heaven on earth. We stayed 3 nights and had the most wonderful time. If you are looking for something simply beautiful and authentic you wont be disappointed. It is tranquil and peaceful however not for everyone. The service is laid back and you need to say if you want catered for 24 hours in advance to guarantee a meal. Its more of a bed and breakfast, but Kilperick and Seagan are happy to provide you with wonderful snacks and drinks whenever you want.

Wow, wow, wow..... From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty!
I had researched our choice carefully (as I'm really fussy) so I knew the Hotel (Chambre D'hote) would be stunning and 'french antique chic'. But even I (and I've stayed at some top notch boutique hotels) was blown away by the quiet over-delivery in every area.

It could have been the 'his' and 'hers' wardrobes in our suite (which was the same price as a small room in other hotels) the fantastic shower, the georgeous comfortable bed or the beautiful decor. Then again, it could have been the impeccable low key and unpretentious service, where nothing too much trouble. It could have been the lovely breakfasts on the rose strewn patio, or the intimate pool, or the beautiful fluffy linen
lounger cushions. It could have been the tea lights that led our way to our room on our return from a hard day exploring, or the late night cheese and ham suppers, or the superb wine recommendations (Les Rosees don't advertise evening meals as they are near Mougins centre, but when we felt like staying in they accomodated us with supper with no problem).

But, I suspect the rarest delight was the attentive and charming hosting and personal service that you crave but hardly ever get when you stay at far more expensive establishments.

This place is a little slice of heaven! A tranquil retreat whether it's for business or pleasure. Away from the fray, but not far from anywhere you might need to be on the Riviera. Even though we were house hunting, we came back to the UK relaxed, rejuvinated and most importantly with our faith in human nature boosted thanks to the warmth of welcome and personal service we received.

I will definately be returning with my family and would highly recommend Les Rosees to anyone (whether they ask or not!)

We spent 4 wonderful nights together with our ten month old son at Les Rosees. From our arrival to our departure, everything was a true delight.

Because of the small size of the hotel you have the feeling you are in a private home. The service is outstanding and the thoughtful staff will please all your desires. The hotel’s owner Kilperick was exceptionally accommodating and friendly and on one occasion the charming Sugey babysat our son, who was immediately smitten by his new found friend!

We stayed in the Isodora Suite, which is beautifully furnished in an airy country style. A lot of attention to detail gives this Suite and in fact all public areas an elegant yet unpretentious feel.

A delicious breakfast either inside or outside on the terrace with fresh orange juice and home-made marmalade was a daily treat.

Les Rosees is situated in the perfect location for exploring the Cote d'Azur and only a short but very steep walk to the old town centre of Mougins.

Les Rosees is not only an incredible hotel; it is a place with a soul… A memorable experience we will always cherish….
