We loved everything about our stay at Negresco. We were looking to relax on the beach at the end of our two-week trip to France, and this was perfect. Each day, the hotel arranged beach chairs for us at the private beach, Neptune. The service at the beach was amazing and the view from our room was awesome. Highly recommend choosing this hotel.

Room tip: We opted for the Deluxe sea view and it was perfect.

Dear Jessica B,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Negresco Hotel for the end of your trip to France.

We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed our partner's Beach "Neptune". Thus, be assured we will share your kind words with all beach attendants. Likewise, thank you for mentioning the impressive view from your room facing the famous Angels' Bay.

We sincerely hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back on many future occasions.

We didn't actually stay here but had a meal at the Brasserie La Rotonde and drinks in the bar. Not a place to skimp on the euro's! But we did expect to pay top prices but for great service on the drinks. Very attentive staff in the bar and just what you would expect in one of the best hotels in Europe.

How this hotel could have five stars and not be able to cater vegetarian/vegans is beyond me. Im a well travelled vegan who enjoy finer hotels and restaurants and NEVER have I been served such horrible food (maybe at a british country side pub). A green sallad for a starter and then the sallad that my company had with a fish was all I got (containing of sallad and other greens). My family got chickpeas in on of their dishes but I got none, how hard can it be to put som chickpeas in a sallad or carbs? If it was a drop in visit I might understand but this was prebooked. Also the valet service worked pretty poorly. So to sum up vegans and vegetarians be aware!

This is a quirky, historical hotel but I would not recommend it.

Our delux room with a sea view was £620 per night on booking.com when booked 10 days in advance, and the same room costs over €900 per per night when booked through the hotel.
But if you go to the Negresco expecting the normal standards of a hotel within this price range you will be very disappointed.

The decor in the room was worn. The bath in the room was not clean. The shower was installed awkwardly over the bath so it flooded the entire bathroom whenever it was used. There was light disturbance from under a door to an joining room.

I was very surprised to learn that the hotel does not provide a clothes iron when requested for ‘security reasons’ they then proceeded charged €36 euros to iron 1 shirt and 1 blouse.

The breakfast is average at best. A small bottle of water from the minibar costs €8 and a late check out request of just one hour was refused.

In Nice in high season of course one expects to pay a premium, but this hotel has definitely crossed a line. It quite obviously does not have customer service at its heart.

Dear ElizabethA1973,

Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to share your feedback on Tripadvisor following your stay at the Negresco Hotel.

It is evident that several aspects of the hotel's product and services have not reached your expectations. It is our endeavor that every guest leaves the hotel as an ambassador and in your case, we have failed to do so.

We have made note of your comments regarding your deluxe sea view room. We sincerely regret that you did not express your concerns while staying with us. If our valued guests are not totally satisfied with the room assigned we are always pleased to offer room alternatives according to availability.

As mentioned in the guest directory, our hotel does not provide iron and board to our guests. This is made in respect of the safety and security, not only for fire implications but also for possible injuries or incorrect use. We do offer a pressing service available through our housekeeping department. Please note that rates are in line with other local competitors.

Regarding your comments on our mini bar rates, these are also in line with all other 5-star hotels from the French Riviera.

We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future.

Sincerely yours,

Pierre BORD

Entry is, officially, for residents only. No longer can members of the public just wander in and ogle at the magnificent features of this South of France icon. But! There is a sneakynwas to get in, without having to be resident: go to the tea room at the left side of the hotel. Anyone can have tea in this wonderful 19c tea room, with its fun-fair horses. Then, you can go to the washroom, which means you have to walk through the hotel to get there from the tea room. Voila !

Dear truth-revealed,

Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to share your feedback with the Tripadvisor community about your recent visit.

We are truly grateful for you kind commendation about access to this property. Our staff is dedicated to deliver the best service possible to our valued guests. As a consequence, acces to the hotel is no more public since 2010. However, as mentioned in your comment, you are totally free to discover the Negresco's private artwork collection after taking a drink in our Bar or having lunch in our brasserie restaurant "La Rotonde".

The team and I look forward to welcoming you back again in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, we remain,

Sincerely yours
