“Total Incompetence, Worst Vacation Ever!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2011

This place has the potential to be great, but it is SO poorfly managed. The director is NEVER there and it's run by kids working there for the summer. The people at the reception are completely clueless and have no idea where things are and what is going on at the club. But the WORST thing was that there is NO INTERNET. They say they have wireless, but it doesn't work, not even in the lobby where you are obliged to go if you want to connect. I verified that they had wireless before the trip and they NEVER said it would work only in the lobby (several minute walk from our place) and that it only worked a few minutes a day - and never at the same time! This destroyed my vacation because I need to check in on my business once a day at least. They also kept canceling and moving activites. My little girl looked so forward to a party scheduled on the agenda to start at 8:30pm on her last night. That same day they changed it to 7-8:30pm and she completely missed it. They didn't put up a sign or notify anyone unless you happened to come ask. So many kids were disappointed to not be able to say goodbye to their friends. The rooms were also fairly dirty and the beds were horribly uncomfortable. What a shame, because the grounds and view are lovely and the kids club staff were very nice, but the terrible lack of service and incomptence made this trip a disaster!

The worst holiday ever.
£200 taxi fare to resort, resort and staff poor. We went to eat in the only restaurant (cafe) on site and had to wait for staff to eat in front of us before serving us!
Needless to say we did not return.
Accommodation sub standard, room damp , no kettle or oven. Very hilly on site, oxygen masks recommended.
Long walk to bus stop, taxi to San Tropez £40 each way! Coke £6, wine £30 for a cheap bottle.
We returned to UK after 2 days.

The location is beuatifull and view is very nice but..... during our two weeks visit nobody took care of swimming pool , the room was really dirty and we started our vist dooing some cleaning. There was no cleanning after the first week....we were living in the are where the staff was living as well. The consequence... after they finnished the entrtainment programme they started a party in they rooms until 5-6 a.m... .. Not mention some minor things like..... swimming pool with wave was dooing wave maybe 3-4 times a day , the same with water slides, most of the time were closed..... This place is a perfect example how you can convert a beautifull place/location into something very dissapointing by bad (no) management.

The village is located on the hills, and is extremely good looking, with little 2 floor provence-style houses spread amongst the mediterranean trees and bushes, amidst ponds and flowers. The village is completely fenced, and there is security personnel controlling access inside the area itself.
The best beaches are located between St.Tropez and Hyeres (from Pampelonne to Escalet, to Cap Taillat, to Gigaro, to Cavalaire, to Le Lavandou) and even though it takes longer to get there in high season (due to the very heavy traffic in the area) I wouldn't recommend to stay in the nearest ones, because the sea is so great in the above mentioned places that it really is a pity to miss it.
In the village main building there is a quite expensive and little market, a reception hall with free wi-fi connection, a rent-a-bike and many other sporting facilities; there is also a big and marvellous swimming pool area, really one of the most beautiful we've ever seen, with different pools and incredible setting. If you have the little ones, there is plenty of space for them too (besides many activities).
One of the nicest things to do in the village is to calmly walk around the many comfortable paths inside the beautiful gardens, but be aware that they might be steep! Even access to the apartments may be so, so if you have some difficulties walking, it's simply not the place to go to.
If it were for the setting, the cleanliness, the facilities and the nice architecture, this place would earn 5 stars for us. Sadly there are some cons too.
The bad news is that the apartment we were in was extremely little; everything is so packed, that you feel a little suffocated. We were in the ground floor, so this sense of suffocation was probably amplified. The apartment isn't bad at all, furniture is good and it's clean. It's just too little. I suppose that if we had been on the first floor we would have felt more comfortable, but down there, really not so much. Therefore I recommend this place to families with kids (because of the many activities, swimming pool and safety), young couples and healthy people (beautiful setting but difficult access), but remember to ask for the first floor, otherwise you could feel as if there were no air for you to breath!

After reading previous reviews & normally booking private villas ( 4 or 5* ) have to confess being a little concerned about the quality of the properties before we arrived. We booked a 3 bed villa for 7/8 people for our family of 4 and found the property in great condition with nice soft furnishings / dining table / patio furniture & new clean beds ( small moan would be beds are rock hard ! ) generally very good
Site is quite big & hilly but our location on Allee de Chene was great
Pool complex lovely & children loved the wave pool - sun beds were a bit hard to come by if you weren't down at 9am .( The place has a no reserving bed policy & security did remove some towels from beds clearly saved which was good to see )
We tried our children in the club - 5 year old was quite happy but 3 year old not impressed. It was very geared up to their biggest customer base ( obviously French ) and the lack of any other English children made it a bit offputting. The clubs & activity program were really suited to older children I would say 8+ would love it. We really missed a mini disco event daily .
Changeover day seems to be Saturday & a tip - even though the info provided says the local supermarkets are open Sunday they are not . Consequently Monday morning in the local supermarket ( we went for LeClerc in Cogolin ) was a bit like M&S on Christmas Eve !
The best beach we though was at Cogolin Marina ( follows signs for St Tropez around the back of Casino supermarket & turn left at the signs ) The car park there is 2Euro all day & right next to the beach ( You can get the ferry to St Tropez here ). There is also two nice restaurants on the beach with beds for hire .
Azur Park fair ground open 8pm at night was great fun - loads of rides for all ages with great value passes.
Marineland in Antibes was a long drive ( 1.5 hrs ) and OK at best
Finally the jewel in the crown of the area is the old town of Grimaud. Lovely little town with great views & restaurants - well worth a visit

As soon as we arrived in the resort we loved the lush landscape and flowers.
Even though we arrived early in the day our villa was ready.
The weather was perfect. The view amazing. The villa had a lovely garden and view of the mountains and was in excellent condition.
The towels, linen and cleaning service was excellent and we were never short of clean towels. The little shop on site was very well stocked and we ate in the restaurant twice which was very good but a little pricey.
The location is great, a car is essential but within a 5 minute drive you have a great choice of beaches. Port Grimaud is a nice town but the town of Grimaud (10mins inland) is not to be missed. There is a big supermarket (Casino) on the road to St.Tropez which is great for stocking up if you are eating in. Take the ferry from Port Grimaud to St. Tropez instead of driving, there is a carpark in Port Grimaud near the entrance to leave the car. This was great and the kids loved it. A word of warning is a coke in a cafe on St.Tropez waterfront was 6Euro!!
Our children aged 2 and 4 dropped in to the mini club a few times to do colouring and one girl had good english.
The pool was great and the waves were a big hit,
My favorite part was a quite evening dinner in Grimaud. My least favorite part was have to leave and come home!
