Mercure villevenue loubet is in a stunning location within easy access to Cannes & Nice by car. It is a very quick 10-15 min drive from Nice Airport & Uber’s are readily available. Battling the French train system with bags can be stressful & the nearest station is a 15 minute walk which can get quite hot.

We booked this hotel because if the pool & the view of the beach & the hotel did not disappoint. It provides a unique relaxing vista of the ocean to enjoy.

Room quality - rooms feel cheaply renovated bathrooms and toilet in the priveledge rooms are poor compared to the rooms in the main building. They are due to replaced soon.

We eat at the roof top Restaurant a few times. It has excellent potential it just needs more food options and you’d never have to leave the hotel. My advice is eat down at the nearby marina, the options are plentiful and much better than the rubbish served up on the beach. (Maybe have pizza at lunch if keen to try)

We found some of the attention to detail still needs work by house keeping such as refilling the soaps in the bathrooms. Cleaning of the rooms was often 3:30pm onwards & they don’t wash the dishes in the room. There is no soaps or towels provided so this seemed unusual to us, so after two days of dishes building up I had to inquire at reception.

All requests to reception were handled warmly and efficiently by Paola who was delightful during our one week stay.

The firmness of the beds & the poor wifi strength would make it difficult to return to the hotel but overall we enjoyed our stay. Be warned if your staying in a room with a beach view the noise from the car park & beach can keep you awake until after midnight. If your staying in a priveledge room on the beach it’s a lot quieter but you wake up to most days the sounds of chairs being moved above.

We very much enjoyed the area and the quieter pace than compared to Nice. With some improvements this hotel can become a hidden gem.

We booked this through booking.com and chose a hotel as close to the beach, you couldn’t get any closer, the hotel has under gone a refurbishment, which included demolishing the old beach block (look at the next door building to see how it use to look like) and they’ve built a brand new very modern block with a fantastic roof terrace, with kabanas, day beds and a plunge pool. The restaurant is very popular with the locals and business people and they do a very good meal deal every day. The main accommodation block is the old block brought up to date and modernised, some rooms have a beach view and balconies of differing sizes. There is a small gym. We had a budget room that overlooked the road, no double glazing so a bit noisy but there’s not a great deal of traffic, there is a mechanical shutter to keep the light out. We didn’t partake in the breakfast, we did our own thing, usually picking something up,on the way back after our early morning run. We tried the set meal deal on the last day (we were there for 4 nights) it was very good value. The setting is ideal with fantastic views out to sea and down the coast towards Nice. If your into shopping try Cap 3000 a big shopping centre all under one roof, with a huge extension currently being built. We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Don’t choose room 108 if your on the large size, separate toilet is a bit of a tight squeeze

We have never been to the south of France before but we are so glad we did. We chose a beach resort rather than nice town itself and Villeneuve-Loubet exceeded our expectations especially our hotel the mecure. We had a basic room which suited our needs as you don’t spend a lot of time in your room. The terrace was lovely to sunbathe on with the high quality Sunbed’s and cabanas and also to sit on in the evening with a drink watching the sun going down. The restaurant on the terrace was very popular with locals. showing the quality of food available and value for money which we sampled on our last day. We didn’t pay the 16 euros per person for breakfast so cannot comment on this. There are several good restaurants around the harbour which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Our favourite was the St Lucia next to the Indian restaurant, good value for money. The promenade toward nice is fantastic to walk, jog etc., we will definitely be returning to this area and hotel. The Geant supermarket and the quietest Burger King we have ever visited are a 5 minute walk away. If you use UBER from the airport to the area it is reasonably priced but from returning to the airport we got stung with the fare so be wary of the surge payments.

Room Tip: Avoid room 108 if you require a large toilet as you have to back in !!!!

Typical bucket Mercure hotel. Basic but delivers on essentials. I travelled with my husband. Initially we had booked a standard room which was very small but bed very comfortable. We upgraded to a Privilege room where the rooms face out to the sea but also the passing walkway traffic, so not much privacy. To be fair we were warned of this when we upgraded.
The rooms are underneath the rooftop restaurant so you also were affected by the noise from the restaurant and bar above. Whilst the bar closed at 10pm the staff were working and moving tables etc until the early hours. The rooms were very basic but comfortable the bathroom especially was very small with only a shower and small sink. Pleasant for a short visit. It is worth mentioning that the reception and Bar staff were exceptional. Gilbert and his colleague who took over in the evenings were delightful and could not do enough to assist.

I have been using the same hotel for many years and travel with my friend each time I visit Villeneuve Loubet. Last year I travelled to the same hotel, I arrived and the hotel was closed for renovation. I had not received any communication from the hotel to advise the hotel would be closed. When I landed in France I received an email in French to inform the hotel would be closed. We were offered a none suitable hotel miles away from the beach, a politely declined. We were then offered a room at the back of the hotel, it was an apartment with no 24 hour reception service. No apology just a very rude receptionist annoyed because she had been disturbed on her day off and openly admitted she had forgotten to send an email.

After going back to the same hotel for years, I was deeply upset. With no apology, the reception lady could not even add a few extra hours onto the room when we departed and resulted in our luggage been locked in the room, ALL MOST MISSED OUT FLIGHT. Again greeted by extremely rude reception lady. I called expedia to escalate the issues I encountered and eveytime I called the customer service advisors hung up.

Huge shame - terrible customer service.
