We stay there for four days in may, and we suggest that you book room with these huge balcony on top floor. Nice room with separate wc. Average breakfast menu for high price/18 euro each, and in may the pool was not temperated/16 celsius something that was very disapointed when the web site didn`t tell any thing about that.
Very helpfull englishspeaking staff in the reception. A great thanks to you all. Just great staff, and the same for the the girl from Kenya in breakfast restaurant. Visiting Cassis is a must if you are in Marseilles. 45min with bus. Amasing small village with lovely shops and a huge number og restaurants.

Room Tip: with balcony but away for the terrible wind that always blow in Marseilles!!

We stay here for 3 days and absolutely loved it. Close enough to the port yet quiet with lots of small shops nearby. This is a very modern hotel with flash and style, not an old time place with french provincial furniture all about. We love the pool / lounge area. In short, we would absolutely come back. Staff was particularly friendly (even to an American).

Room Tip: All windows are very well insulated so noise is not a problem. High floor facing port is, of course...

Stepping off the elevator into a hallway lit with a myriad of rainbow colors is the first sign I've made a serious mistake. The metal elevator door closes on my legs and luggage on the way out as if to make a point. The room itself, nothing overtly offensive at first, has a bunch of "gotchas": the thin tub bottom that buckles subtly under my weight when I step in (120 lbs), the lumpy square pillows, the atrocious sum of 2.50 EUR for a Nespresso capsule, the huge portrait of some Asian scholar who peers at me suspiciously from one wall, even in the dark.

The undersized hotel pool showcases oversized guests mostly under 15 or over 50 eating fries and peering over the balcony to the busy multi-lane road located immediately underneath.

The hotel staff says hello when they shouldn't (coming downstairs in stilettos) and never when they should (going upstairs with luggage).

Technically all this stills adds up to a 4 star rating. But the soul is not in this one.

Really nice hotel situated in vieux-port of Marseille. Rooms are very nice and you have a great swimming pool outside. Breakfast is very good and various. From this hotel you can visit the city center and also you go easily to the sea.

- The hotel is just up the road from the main port tourist area so it's a good location: not far from the bars and restaurants but tucked away a bit so it's quieter
- If you walk in the opposite direction the beach is very close to the hotel
- Opposite the hotel is the palais du pharo which is a hidden gem! The gardens are a nice place to sit and the views across the port are stunning! We took a picnic and watched the sun set over the sea.
- The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful
- The rooftop pool is great but can get a bit busy at times
- The hotel's quirky deco won't be to everyone's taste (felt a bit art studenty) but it doesn't detract from the quality of the hotel

The hotel is nice, clean and situated in a beautiful and calm area close to the port. The best part was the staff: friendly, professional and very service minded. Would definetely recommend this hotel, and stay here again if I return to this wonderful city.

We stayed at the the New Hotel of Marseilles on a business/pleasure trip. Let me first say the Marseilles is a jewel of a city with a melting pot of cultures that is second to none. As the citizens of Marseilles feel this city first- citizen of France second. The hotel is a perfect setting and is close to the Le Vieux - Port (the old port), you can walk to the port from the hotel and we did every day of our five days there. The rooms are on par with what you would expect at a high end hotel in the USA. But the similarities end there. The decor is more on the avant-garde modern side of the the world. But it's still a very comfortable place to stay. The amenities are all top notch with a great but cold pool, bar, and restaurant. The pool is good, the food is great and the drinks are well made and they go down easy. Great wine list.

But that's not what sticks out in my mind. The staff here is world class and they go out of there way to help you and make your stay memorable. From the bellhops from the front desk to the wait staff, the cleaning people, and bartenders they are all spot on. Hopefully during your stay Pierre (Pete) and Jean Deny (John Denee) will be your bartenders as they made our stay so much better each day as we enjoyed the story of the day and a libation with these two excellent mixologists.

Breakfast is included and you will be in awe of the selection and quality of the food available. I believe they serve until 10:00 but get down there early so you don't miss out on the selection. We also had dinner there a couple of nights and the food was some of the best we had during our two weeks in France. Not too pricey which is good as many of the cafes by the old port can get a bit expensive.

Room Tip: We had a room in the back of the hotel...guessing the front rooms have a much better view.
