Only stayed one night, I could have enjoyed to stay more

Very comfortable hotel with a large room and a nice bathroom, complimentary tea and coffee, safe and nice terrace. The highlight is the wellness area: a big swimming pool, a pool with jacuzzi and water fountains, sauna, hamman and massage. Towels are provided, not shoes. We didn’t try the breakfast because it was not included and it was very expensive (18€). Wifi is good. The price, at least in November, is very reasonable.

Stay in 06/2023 - Opinion filed on 16/06/2023
The receptionist could not find our booking on arrival and required assistance. The hotel is rundown and shabby. Our room was dull, without an outllok. The air conditioning did not work. The sofa bed was so deformed, it was impossible to sleep on it and we had to put the (thin) mattress on the floor. The toilet room had no ventilation and stank of old urine. Parts fell off the shower when we used it and the drain was blocked so the water built up in the bath. There was mould around the bath. When we raised some of these issues with the reception, they said the hotel was fully booked. They did not offer any help.
For a hotel described as ‘hotel d’elegance’ it was disgraceful and the advertising descriptions and pictures are deceptive

Room tip: Don’t be fooled by the published description and photos

The good point is definitely the lake view from some of the rooms... this has no price!!
We took a chambre privilege : nice room, except for some unpractical details such as the fact that you can t watch the TV from the couch 🤔...
Full time access to the baths area ( rather ameliorated pool than a spa).
Breakfast ( especially in the room) is definitely not worth the price...
as a conclusion I would say that the 4 stars classification mainly comes from the bath access and great location rather than the rooms or services of the hotel.

I spent 6 days in this hotel. I arrived in the evening and when I saw the hotel, I thought it’s going to be a torture to spend 5 nights in it. BUT when I woke up, the view I saw, changed everything. It’s awesome, the lake, marina and the mountains... That was a breathtaking view.
Yes- the hotel has seen better days, it’s not the newest one; yes- the restaurant doesn’t serve good dinners (breakfasts are good though), but the view, the area are worth a little bit of devotion.
The restaurants in the area serve good food, so you don’t need to eat in the hotel.
I recommend this hotel.

The good thing about this place is the view of lake du Bourget.
The outside look quite new but the lobby must date from the 70s!!!
Same thing with the bedrooms that have obviously been refreshed but like a kind of DIY project (they kept the old draperies though) the beds were so-so (mine had a mattress cover inside the duvet cover !!!!!!).
The bathroom has not been redone, the shower curtain looked disgusting and the were mold stains along the bathtub.
We did not dare to try the spa.
I don t know where they got 4 stars
