Fantastic, special place. It is beyond "quaint". We took a 7 mile walk from Chamonix and we happened upon this restaurant. While we didn't stay there, we found out about the option of being driven to and from our hotel if you have dinner there. We had a gastronomical dinner. The food is 5 star! Everyone sits at one large table that faces the kitchen. Watching the 2 chefs preparing the food adds to the experience. This restaurant and hotel are not to be missed! Very special!

We normally stay in hotels, so this was a bit of a departure for us. We stayed in chalet La Batie set out on 3 floors. The individual rooms are a reasonable size (other chalets are bigger), although I would say that the stairs (ladders really!) between the floors are very steep, so you do need to be pretty able bodied for this chalet, although others may be more accessible. The setting and the views from the rooms are absolutely gorgeous and we also had a lovely wood burner in our bedroom. The whole place is incredibly peaceful and although at first I thought it was slightly light on facilities, after a day or two I decided I really love this place. I also have to mention the staff, who were great and finally and most spectacularly the food. We dined in the restaurant one night and the food is just amazing - Michelin star standard in a hotel!!

Room Tip: Ask about accessibility if you are not good with ladders

Drinks and dinner for eight people in late December - it could not have been more charming. The food was outstanding (firs gras, langoustine, veal), the setting is lovely and the staff are terrific. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and myself had the chance to spend one night at Les Chalets de Philippe.
It was a fantastic experience from the reservation till the check out. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We rented the Chalet Clarine and could enjoy the fantastic location, and the outdoor jacuzzi. The chalet is well decorated and well equiped (nespresso machine, Hermes amenities......).The chef of the restaurant is great and it was a pleasure to have an aperitif next to the fire place. I strongly recommend this venue if you want to spend a romantic moment.

We loved our time at Les Chalets de Philippe! We stayed in Les Clarins chalet and loved the perfectly cozy (and tiny) set up. We enjoy cooking and made a few of our own meals and found the kitchen to be well equipped for our needs. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided by the staff. The setting is gorgeous and provided a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the mountains. Highly recommend!

Wow, what an experience. The day we arrived the newspaper told us that Kylie Minogue, Sophie Marceau etc. stayed here. There's some list of the top 8 hotels in the world and this is one of them. So you know you are in for something special.
It's a bunch of charming chalets close together with short charming pathways separating them. Philippe is an artist, a film maker, a photographer and has put in so many small touches in his Chalets that it will take you a couple of days just to notice them. All these and so much wood give the chalets a tremendously warm and comfortable feeling. It's the complete opposite of a cold modern hotel room. We chose the chalet called Les Trolles mainly for the deck where they served us breakfast as we gazed at the Mont Blanc every morning. The chalet had it's on steam room and 2 jacuzzis which we used briefly.

We took the half-board option (breakfast and dinner) for Euro 80 per person. On the first evening the main chef was absent but the pastry chef did a great job along with the server. We chose to eat in their living room (for the appetizers) and move to the dining table for the entrees. The second night both the chefs were absent so the food was ordinary. So make sure the chefs are there when you choose to eat there.

The staff was exceptional in their warmth and personal attention and helped make this stay extraordinary. They will happily take you around to the sights in Chamonix in their car (for a charge) and pick you up. Very convenient.

On the last day my passport was stolen in the Chamonix cable car centre called Aguille Du Midi and one of the staff, Nikolai was so helpful, I can't say enough. He helped me search for it even in the trash cans, helped me file the police complaint and explained in French at the train and bus station that my things had been stolen so I didn't have to buy the tickets again. There was a train strike and Nikolai stayed back and made sure we boarded the bus. In my entire travels Nikolai is the most friendly, warm and helpful person I have ever come across.

Overall, an experience you will never forget thanks to the Chalets and the staff.

Room Tip: The website shows you the different chalets so pick whichever you like.
