The location of the hotel is great, its facilities are in good condition, with an excellent restaurant and the staff of the hotel anticipated our needs at all times! We recommend the hotel wholeheartedly and it is ideal for a romantic weekend scape.

Ill save the bad part for last. The hotel appears nice, staff is okay for the most part although I will say this hotel lacks the professional courtesy Ive come to expect from a property that is apart of the LHW portfolio.

Room was okay, dated, but functional. I do like the Molton Brown amenities.

The bad.

The lounge / bar allows smoking. Huge turnoff. Even though they say they have a non-smoking section...its all one room and you have to walk through the smoking part to get to the non-smoking part. Hello, its 2024. Smoking is bad for you and its against EU laws to smoke inside.

Toilet in room does not stop running. I would have addressed this but we left after one night due to the heinous behavior of the breakfast waitstaff.

So the really bad. Well, I would have to warn you that if you aren't caucasian you might experience some issues with service. The four "ladies" that work the breakfast room (all rather old in my opinion to be sluffing food) are racist. Pure and simple. I can deduce that is the only explanation why my wife and I were not treated in the fashion others were treated. Examples:

1. When we arrived we were told to have a seat and left to find our own table. Others who came in were shown to their tables, and offered coffee right away. Not us...took 10 minutes before my wife had to ask one of the "ladies." I saw three couples arrive after us, all seated by a hostess and served coffee.

2. Other people were receiving food that they could order from the menu. Not us. At no time did they come over to ask us if we wanted to order anything, despite being in a very prominent area. Oh, they helped the tables around us, but not us. They wouldn't even make eye contact.

3. I notified the manager on duty, but he did nothing. Couldn't be bothered I guess. One good thing was he took the initiative to have our car brought up really quick once we told him we were not staying for a second night as booked.

Do yourself a favor. Don't stay here. Its not up to the standards of the LHW and its not a 5* hotel.
