Loved this hotel, set right in the cathedral square. The people were great and super friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a restaurant on the first floor plus the square hosts a market Monday-Friday. There are also lots of shops and restaurants in the square.
Would highly recommend and stay again.
Wonderful hotel—all the modern amenities in the room but inside a charming traditional hotel. The staff were all amazing, especially Elisa and Traudi (so?) who went above and beyond to welcome us. Great location across the square from the cathedral.
We visited Frieberg and stayed at the Hotel Rappen. Location was amazing - the cathedral was opposite our hotel with a charming market square. Shops, bars and restaurants all within walking distance and Black Forest backdrop too. Public transport links were excellent. The hotel itself had wonderful staff that couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast buffet of both hot and cold dishes and even a glass of wine if you wanted it. Room was serviced every day and spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend if you are heading to Frieberg for the Christmas markets.
The hotel staff are very welcoming, very friendly and professional service. We had excellent dinner and breakfast. The room was modern , clean and comfortable. The soundproof windows are brilliant for keeping the noise down.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable hotel and terrific, super-friendly staff. And quiet. There was an unbelievably loud wine festival in the Cathedral square (Munsterplatz) and a baby across the hall and we didn’t hear a thing in our rooms. Plus outstanding location right across from the cathedral. Tip: inexpensive food and fruit in the market right outside the door except on Sundays. Only downside was no refrigerator for those like us who like to keep snacks and food for picnic outings in our rooms.
