We booked a 2nights stay through secret-escapes.de with half board. Found out that the half board incl. only 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. We waited 20 min. before I asked if we could order something. The 4 course dinner was very nice though. The lake is more a pond. The suite ok but not special.

Dear guest,

thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied.

The Secret Escape offer includes - as described even on the website of Secret Escapes - 2 nights, 2 x breakfast buffet and one dinner. So we are sorry but we have exactly fullfilled our contract.

We are sorry that you had to wait to order but we are glad to hear that at least you enjoyed the meal.

Lake Riessersee is a small lake, but much bigger then a pond and with its fantastic panorama it is maybe unique in Bavaria.

Thank you again for the feedback and all best wishes!

We spent a beautiful weekend up at the Riessersee Resort.
The rooms are tastily decorated, apartment style with all amenities one needs. The bathrooms maybe a bit small but, then, got everything inside and one is easily compensated by the generous sofa combi with large flat TV, high quality bedding etc..
Food was high quality throughout, wr had perfect b'fast, BBQ, buffet or a la carte, in the main garden restaurant.
There is a great bar at lobby level which was really happening during Champs Leagues Final live broadcast.
Everyone was very friendly and professional.
But what is best is the location. No words to describe the incredible setting at the lake shore with dramatic mountain views on the one side and the valley of Garmisch on the other...!
Thank you for a great experience, we will be back next year!

Decided to extend our stay in Bavaria for a few days and found the Riessersee Hotel on Tripadvisor. What a treasure! Our four days there were absolutely magical between the hotel itself, the surrounding scenery, and the easy day-trip access. The double room was clean and comfortable. We were fortunate to have a balcony facing the lake and the Alps. The restaurant was fantastic both for the included breakfast and the two dinners we enjoyed there. We "hiked" around the lake, exploring the remnants of the bobsled run from the 1936 Olympics. We walked to the train that took us to the top of the Zugspitze, and also took a day trip to Schwangau and one to Salzberg. Would absolutely love to return.

Room tip: Ask for a balcony room facing the Alps and Riessersee.

Great location with fabulous views on the Zugspitze, Garmisch and the Zugsptize arena! Nature with a Capital N! Cosy, comfortable with facilities for lots of activities- fitness, pool, jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet is perfect--loved the weiss wurst & fresh squezed OJ! And tons of choices! Terrace at SeeHaus is divine in sun with the lake! Don't miss the Kaisersmarnn! Fun walk up the historic bob run & curves and great hiking everywhere.

We had a lovely weekend stay here in March. My husband stayed in a smaller room for business during the week and then switched to a larger Maisonette suite during the early afternoon (before normal check in time) when we arrived. They provided a baby bed (per our request) and helped to prep the sofa bed for our other child. The breakfasts were quite good (more than just the typical bread, meat, and cheese). They were very accommodating to our little people (4 and 2), bringing hot chocolate one day, and their own special little cups for breakfast each day, and the lady who was working during that time was very sweet. I think that the Reisersee restaurant was a little expensive, but the food was good. The spot on the lake with all the trails around was killer and we will stay here again during our next trip. Its slightly more "old fashioned" feeling, but that was completely ok for us.
