The hotel was wonderful, the breakfast was the most exceptional spread we've had to date in our 3 years living and traveling in Europe. The staff was helpful, and treated us and our pets like they'd known us for years. The room plus the bath was super clean and housekeeping did an awesome job on our turndown service everyday. The bed was very comfortable and there were no noise problems at night. We were given free passes to use if we wanted to take the bus to the town square and there was also free parking for our POV that we drove right in the parking lot of the hotel. We recommend this hotel to people of all ages, as they accommodate for children as well. It also has a spa so it would be nice if you are in Garmisch just to relax and not to snow ski. If you are there to ski the hotel is located in a very convenient area with easy access to the lifts. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: All up stairs rooms have a balcony with a beautiful view.

The hotel was wonderful, the breakfast was exceptional, and the staff really treated us like family! We stayed at the family suite across the road from the main facility and it was great...each morning they had our breakfast table set for my family of 7x and we really appreciated their efforts.

Room Tip: Every room was excellent for my family

Upon arriving at this hotel we were told a large tour group was coming in the next day and would we mind being upgraded to larger rooms across the street at no additional charge for our 2 night stay. We were amazed at our large suite style rooms. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the staff was amazing. This is a family run hotel and they know how to make their guests comfortable and welcome. Andreas and his family helped us with information on visiting the castles and other sites we were interested in while spending our 2 nights here. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and had everything you would want to eat. We also ate in their dining room one evening and the food was delicious. We would definitely come back here if we ever have the opportunity to travel in this area again. It was a great location.

Room Tip: We did not see the regular hotel rooms but the one we had was more like a small apartment with a liv...

Stayed for two nights. Hotel room was huge, clean and comfy. We were at the back so didn't experience the noise some travellers write about. Went to the bar for a g&t and was delighted by the massive slosh of gin. Breakfast was hearty and pancakes with bacon absolutely delish. John and Andreas are great hosts. Thoroughly recommend it. Go to top of zugspitze if you do nothing else whilst here!

Hotel Rheinischer Hof is in a perfect location, walking distance to the town center and a quick drive to skiing / the Zugspitze. The management and staff are all about service (great) and in my opinion rate second to none. The hotel restaurant is fantastic for breakfast and dinner and the rooms were spacious, immaculate, and very comfortable not to mention the great views of the mountains.

We had been to Garmisch several times before this last stay and we decided to stay at the Hotel Rheinischer Hof. The staff was absolutely great -- al of them. From the front desk, cleaning team, and restaurant staff. One of the owners also worked the front desk - he was extremely helpful and how to get around, where to shop, get to the Zugspitz, local transportation, etc. As a frequent traveler I can't remember a more helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were excellent - clean, spacious, and with a balcony. The price was very reasonable for what you received in the room. If you go to Garmisch you won't be disappointed staying there. There is also a bus stop right out the front door.

It was raining the entire time we were in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in early September.
Check-in is at 2pm.

-Great Views from the Balcony (we saw a little of the mountains when the sun peaked through the clouds)
-Clean and spacious rooms
-Breakfast and parking included (however, parking space is pretty tight).
-Dinner was delicious (a little pricey) at the hotel restaurant
-Staff was completely friendly and check in and check out was smooth.
-Bus stand is right outside the hotel

-Our room was facing the road, which was REALLY busy at all hours. Especially when large trucks would fly by in the middle of the night.
-Without a car, the hotel is pretty far from the downtown shopping center (walking 20 mins)

I would recommend this place!

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room that does not face the noisy main street.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our goal is to meet all your wishes! What are you looking for when you go on holidays? You might wish somewhat more than the ordinary standard? Hence, it is not only about bed, breakfast and mountain view. What we mean is our characteristic pleasant and casual ambience, which surrounds the guests, wherever they are in the house, whatever they do. We mean the mountains just in front of the door. Well, we mean the typical feeling in "Garmisch": the discovery of the unspoilt nature during a walk through the gorge "Partnachklamm", the little thrills during a hang-gliding tandem flight or the "adrenalin rush" during an adventurous rafting tour through the gorge of "Imst". Our declared goal is to be an ideal base for all your personal holiday activities. ... more   less
