It had all the essentials and the reception staff were friendly and spoke perfect English to which was appreciated! I left my laptop charger cable and had to go back for it and it was ready and waiting at reception which was a big relief.
The downsides were that I came during July so it was hot and there is no air conditioning in the rooms. The internet is infuriatingly slow and intermittent for this day and age and the amenities were pretty basic. The coffee/creamers were not topped up, I had to go and request more. Lastly, there was shouting and the sound of smashing bottles right outside my window late on the Sunday evening, although I don't think this is typical of the area, which felt very safe.
The hotel is within walking distance of Erlangen town centre, which is a picturesque location (look for the little cafes with outside seating down the side streets) and has great public transport, although cycling seems a very popular option in the summer.
