This is a pretty, small hotel that is convienently located in the middle of Erlangen's city center. The owners are usually onsite so the service is exceptional. Although the rooms are a bit small, they are nice with a sitting area and desk. The breakfast was wonderful with a large selection. I was very disappointed that the restaurant is now only open on certain dates because I enjoyed a fantastic meal here 6 years ago and was looking so forward to dining there again. We were here for three nights and it was such a pleasant stay.

We stayed at this hotel while in Europe for a trip that began and ended in Erlangen (4 nights total), and our experience was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The proprietress was friendly and accommodating and made us feel very much at home. The breakfast was very good and the coffee excellent. The rooms were extremely clean and each day we came home to fruit and chocolate in our room. The hotel has a highly-rated restaurant on site. Unfortunately for us, the two nights that we would have been able to eat there were Sundays and the restaurant was closed. We stayed in a number of nice hotels during our holiday, including a 5-star hotel in Prague, and this was by far our favourite. We will always stay at Altmanns Stube while visiting our son in Erlangen.

Very well placed, the staff is welcoming and helpful, there is good parking right in front of the hotel, (but watch out that you feed the meter, otherwise you get a ticket). I could dine there but thats because I came late and it was fully booked, no fault of there's. The room was clean and proper, nice view on a small garden, and all very well priced. I can any time recommend this
