Was driving from Vienna to UK. Needed a place to shower, sleep and grab something to eat. This ticked all the boxes. Friendly manager, good prices. Room was spotless. Was recommended to eat at the local restaurant next to the petrol station. Food was excellent and great value too. Not a place for a longer stay as its right near the Autobahn but little noise from it. Glad to have stopped.

I've been staying in Ibis Budget hotels and its predecessor, the Etap for coming on 20 years. Certain countries are better than others, as are hotels further away from large cities. I've stayed in this particular hotel probably 5x over the years. On this occasion I was not impressed: the lavatory was dirty and had clearly only received a cursory wipe, the shower head mount was broken making it impossible to shower without holding the head. Housekeeping arrived noisily at 8am and proceeded to knock loudly on all doors in the corridor, including mine, speaking loudly with one another in Romanian. Having arrived late at night and wishing to sleep for longer before another long drive (the check out time is 12pm) this was unwelcome. It was clear that rather than turn around each room at a time, they wish to open as many doors as possible, probably for their benefit as it speeds up the job. Doors do not seal out noise well and loud guests can also present an issue as people usually prefer to let the door slam of its own accord, than invest energy is closing it gently, although this is a criticism of all Ibis Budget hotels. The hotel is next to a truck stop adjacent to the A3 motorway, ideally located for motorists who want to rest before continuing the following day. Its distance from Regensburg city centre is probably of little interest to most customers. The truck stop restaurant and general facilities are quite nice and serves good value food. The hotel is close to the motorway but thanks to good double glazing you are not disturbed by it. Otherwise it's the usual Ibis Budget hotel with decent beds and simple but functional rooms. Frankly, it's a little pricey at 50 Euros for a single the night I stayed, I could have booked the Mercure for 70 Euros closer to the town centre which is far superior in every way.

While we wouldn't recommend for a longer stay, if you need to overnight on a budget, this is a good choice as long as you know these points:

- The staff leaves at 22h - meaning no check in or other assistance.

- The rooms are tiny but work - it's like staying in a functional camper.

- There are very few options for breakfast and if you're vegan or vegetarian you won't eat. Even the tea has milk.

- Eat dinner before checking in. There is a vending machine that sells beer or a truck stop a block away.

On the plus side, it's cheap, clean and easy to get to.

clean and comfy room, pleasant staff at the reception, a bit further from the city center, but not too much. It possible to take the bus to the city centre. Regensburg is very nice place to the visiting.

This is an excellent hotel. We've stayed here several times and each time it has been great. Our children particularly love the shower lights. The hotel is close to the motorway, very comfortable, affordable and staff are very friendly.
