Review of Kuess die Hand

Kuess die Hand
Ranked #7 of 113 Restaurants in Fussen
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$8 - US$29
Description: We are a small family business with roots in Vienna and Germany. We design our menu with love, care and individual according to seasonal offers. We work exclusively with small manufactory companies from the region. Small and fine is our philosophy. We love the Austrian and especially the Viennese kitchen. We interpret some of the dishes in a new way, others we traditionally cook according to original ones recipes.

Wonderful good quality food but expensive. Fiance had the Buddha bowl which was a very tasty vegetable lentil coconut milk curry always a good change for her from the standard pizza/pasta fare as a vego. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. apricot strudel was ok not as great as the prior reviews state. Perhaps when fresh would be best.

What about a spicy German dinner? Well, if you're on this mood then Die Hand is the place you want to to eat.
First enjoy a walk on the city, cross the bridge over the green water of the river then go for dinner.
I got some spicy skewers and i enjoyed till the last bite. My wife got a soup (ginger, carrot, sesame and coconut milk) and still says it was great. Same for the thai chicken both my daughters got.
So that's a great place

So, we stumbled upon Kuss Die Hand while surfing on Trip Advisor. It is located on a charming street in Fussen, Bavaria and were greeted warmly by the owner/chef Jurgen and seated at one of the sidewalk tables. We took his recommendation and ordered to lamb dinner. It was prepared perfectly with a superb spice rub. The rest of the meal was equally fine. The skies opened with rain, so we and our fellow diners ran for cover at one of the restaurant's interior tables. The rain did not let up so Jurgen politely treated everyone to a round of schnaps... great way to finish a fine dinner experience!

We stopped here for dinner after a day visiting castles. The Tandoori chicken on the menu appealed, and it didn't disappoint. In fact, it was one of the tastiest renditions of the dish I've had. Originally, we planned to eat outside, but as the weather threatened, we moved indoors. What a shame. Our table near the window was surrounded by flies, which appeared to be the case in much of the restaurant. Although the food was delicious, we couldn't enjoy it sufficiently because we spent the evening batting bugs away from our faces.
