Owner description: The Pergamonmuseum is a three-wing complex. The museum houses three of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s collections: the Antikensammlung, Vorderasiatisches Museum, and the Museum für Islamische Kunst. The impressive reconstructions of massive archaeological structures – the Pergamon Altar, Market Gate of Miletus, the Ishtar Gate and Processional Way from Babylon, and the Mshatta Facade – have made the Pergamonmuseum famous throughout the world, with the result that it is the most visited museum at the Staatliche Museen and in Germany as a whole.

Amazingly reconstructed buildings within the museum that give a hint towards the grandeur of other civilisations. Well worth a walk around although I wouldn’t say it takes very long.

We passed it twice seeing huge queues to get in and decided to wait, popping into the other museums on our ticket, a good decision as by the afternoon there was no queue and we simply walked straight in!

Very impressive museum, with many amazing artifacts. Anyone at least remotely interested in history should not miss it. The Ishtar gate is truly mesmerising, also impressive is the fact that they mananged to somehow rebuild this masterpiece from original pieces.
I recommend getting a timed ticket because the line is always over 1 hour long.

There was a queue on arrival , but we didn’t wait more than 45’ to get in . The museum itself is quite interesting. I did expect more original pieces of history . Quite a large percentage of the exhibition are copies of originals. However , the museum is definatly worth the visit , there are some really beautiful things to see , I strongly recommend the earphones given without extra charge to have a really good explanation of what you are actually seeing.

I recommend booking tickets with a time slot ahead of your visit. This way you can skip the long lines.

It is recommended to book your visit otherwise you maybe spend two hours to enter in,something that is awful when the weather is cold.As for the museum: the exhibition is amazing, really impressive ,but also pity as German has uprooted whole face building to creat a museum.Totally recommended a visit.!Take the three days museum card to save money.Surely you will spend two hours there.Greek audio is available.
