One of the many town halls around Berlin, nice architecture, important historically. A site to be seen.

I was at a reception here and it was very nice. The buildings itself was nice along with the food and service.

It was difficult to enjoy the outside of the building with ongoing construction in front, however inside upon entry took my breath away. A gorgeous red carpeted grand stairway as you look up is the type of thing you'd expect to see in a palace (see pic).

The top of the stairs showcases some wonderful statue artworks (see pics), the marble room is opulent with red marble columns and flooring (see pics) - even the formal coat check area is draped in marble (see pic) and uses old fashioned coat rack holders (see pic) instead of coat hangers on a rail - it's vintage charm.

The next room held modern sculptures (see pic) but the splendour of this room is surely the brightly coloured ceiling, the arches and the gold gilding at the top of the many columns. The colour scheme reminded me of the French Renaissance period (see pics).

A lovely building. You cannot miss it as it is large and red. Worth a visit if you are in the area and into that kind of thing.
