“This hotel was amazing!”

We absolutely loved staying at the Ritz Carlton last Spring 2011. The rooms were beautiful (especially the gorgeous bathroom), spacious and clean and the lobby area is very nice. The service was great and they pay attention to small details. For example, when we would finish our morning run, we would be handed a bottle of water on our way back into the hotel. The location is also terrific. We really enjoyed our experience there.

We really liked the hotel! I dont even have to mention the cleaningness and beauty of the rooms, however, we really liked the bathroom, shower and the bath, impressive. The location is perfect for Berlin tourists. After a long walking touristy day, we jumped into the pool and the hot tub to relax and rejuvinate our feet and exhausted selves. It is a luxury hotel but worth the stay and money!

Bestmilano has the review spot on. In terms of glamour and decor yes, in terms of service, not any more.

The location is perfect, but then so is the sister Marriott Hotel.
The bed is ultra comfortable.

The service is not what it once was, and some of the facilities are in decline I.e Spa area.

A great shame that this is now the case.

We spent a weekend at this hotel during March 2012.
The rooms are extremely comfort and nice ( not big thou) the view if you get a street view is straight looking into an office building.
At the beginning they sent our luggage to another room and it took them more then an hour to find out that they delivered our luggage to another guest room... a situation that should not happen especially in the Ritz hotel but they did apologize and arrange for dinner as a compensation.
The hotel also open his gate to pets so don't panic if you get attack by 2 bulldogs in the hall at rooms floor....
the Breakfast is an AMAZING and i must admit its one from the nicest i have seen ( and i did see a lot as a frequent business traveler).
The concierge charge 20% service charge if they arrange tickets or other travel services.
All in all its a nice hotel, but i expected a bit more in terms of service from the "Ritz Carlton" hotel.

The price for the Ritz in Berlin was quite reasonable considering I was in a major European capital. That takes a bit of getting used to. It is like the prices you get staying in Chicago versus New York or San Francisco. The hotel itself is very new and nice. The service I got was excellent. They have a funny routine where they close the curtains around the bar at 6:00pm then they play a song and have a guy in an old style guard costume open them. I have no idea quite what that was all about, but I am all for it.

The hotel is right next to the train station. There is a nice Wall memorial just a few steps away from the hotel. The exercise room is very good. I also have stayed at the Intercontinental in Berlin. There is no comparison. The Ritz is a couple steps above.

I stayed at the Ritz Berlin several times in recent years, more satisfied and happy to come back. Lately, unfortunately the hotel is in economic crisis, everything has changed including their service. In the rooms with the excuse of saving the environment are no longer change the sheets every day (typical of a 5 star deluxe), is no longer made the nightly turn down (only if requested and not always done so despite the request), the arrival room are no longer the excellent fresh fruit and chocolates on the bedside table, and at night no more chocolates on the pillow. The products of very low quality bathroom and placed sparingly, once stood in the bathroom more than anywhere else, lots of shampoo and shower baths, but now for two people are given only a tiny tube of shampoo and a bathroom shower to be shared . The pool is forgotten, the staff is no longer present and you have to take for himself the towels, clean the bed used by previous customers. How clean the spa area leaves much be desired. The beds are the most confortable in the world despite the crisis, the more lavish decor, great location. The price I would say cheaply for a five star luxury. Too bad sin for the service if you are still looking for a super-luxury class hotels and impeccable service is still in Berlin, we strongly recommend the De Rome Rocco Forte's.

My family of 5 stayed for 9 nights in end December/early January. We had 2 interconnecting rooms. Our rate was really reasonable and included buffet breakfast. We loved the hotel. The location is fantastic with the train station right outside the front door. We hit a little bit of wet weather and so when we wanted to get to the shopping centre which was close by used the underground walkway from the train station to the shops. One night we felt like a movie and across the road was a cinema that showed all movies in English. It was only about a 5 minute walk to the Brandenburg Gate and other really interesting sights. We basically walked everywhere and at the end of the day after lots of walking caught the train back to the hotel. We arrived just before New Years Eve, across the road were Christmas Markets where we went most nights after dinner for a pretzel or other treats.

Our rooms were extremely comfortable. We had a room with a king bed and then the second room had two double beds. The bathroom is massive with lovely shampoos and soaps etc. The rooms have DVD players and if you visit Concierge they have a selection of DVDs that you can take up to your room to watch (there is no fee for this). Not a huge amount of English speaking movies to choose from though. The rooms are quite spacious with everything you would need. There was plenty of room for us all, our children were 18, 16, 13. We were always warmly greeted by staff as we either left the hotel for the day or upon our return. In the mornings near the lift there were a selection of biscuits/treats that you could take with you. My youngest son loved the main restaurant for breakfast because behind the front counter were jars and jars of sweets. If you asked the staff member behind the counter they would fill up a bag of sweets (of your choice) for you to take...there was no fee for this. So my son had a bag of sweets to munch on as we toured around Berlin. It was a nice touch.

The buffet breakfast was nice, it had basically everything you could ask for with cheeses, sliced meats, salmon, hot food, crepes, breads, fruits, pastries etc. My only minor gripe is the fruit juices, at most buffets that we have been to, you can go up and pour a fruit juice whenever you liked. At the restaurant you had to ask staff for one, if the restaurant was busy it could sometimes take a while to get a juice. The main bar area was nice with a piano play and singer most nights. It is not a huge bar so a lot of the time we had trouble getting a seat and had to sit in the foyer area. The bar prices, like most hotels, were pretty pricey. We only ate at the hotel for breakfast so I can't give any comments on their lunch or dinners.

There is a small indoor pool which we used after a long day of walking. The hotel doesn't offer free wifi but around the corner from the hotel is a Starbucks which we would frequent daily to get emails etc. If you are going to Berlin for New Years Eve this is a great hotel as it is so close to the Brandenburg Gate where all the action is.

Highly recommend the hotel for a really comfortable stay, where you feel welcomed. Will definitely stay there again.
