The best thing that could happen to a potato would be to be used in the making of the delicious dishes this restaurant has to offer. We went there on a sunny day, it's at a walking distance from all of the central touristic attractions of Berlin. I would recommend stopping there after a boat tour on the river Spree. The location is charming: a little iron gate leads you down a few steps to the entrance, a little detail that gives everything an almost fairy-tale touch. You can choose to sit inside or outside, both options are appealing because it's a quiet area. The service was cordial and efficient. We were tourists ourselves, but we could see that the restaurant is also well liked among locals: next to us was sitting a group of elderly German women, laughing and sharing a drink in the cozy atmosphere. The food itself was spectacular: the plates were arranged so that each flavor compensated the other, each ingredient was just as tasty as it should be, and of course, the potatoes were the best. We were tourists in Berlin for a week, and out of all the food experiences we had, this one was the most memorable. Will be back for sure. Can not recommend it enough.

The place is OK, and all of the dishes do have potato in them, but it wasn't what we expected. Most dishes serve potatoes as a side dish, or just a simple and not special kind of potato dish. Also, they did have desserts made of potato (which is cool and original), but the one we tasted (the waffle) just literally tasted like potato and wasn't fit for dessert.

went here with a group of friends after wandering around Berlin for most of the afternoon (cold, windy, snowy/rainy day)... found this place and it seemed like it would be fun. Service was German ... not super-friendly, but not snarly either ... food came quickly and tasted great. I had the #33 which had chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms and a few other things pus the sliced potatoes in a curry creamy sauce ... yummy!! everyone said their meal was great and most took at least part back to the hotel to snack on later. Will be back again!! Reasonable cost ...

Be under no illusions: the clue's in the name. This place celebrates all things potato. As such, don't go expecting anything too refined. If you're a wurst, kraut and mash guy or gal: you've found your spiritual home. If you need something less agricultural: there's plent y to choose from down the street.
That said, the pork knuckle with dark beer sauce and potato dumplings and sauerkraut was blokishly satisfying - though the flesh took a bit of gnawing from the bone to enjoy!I
To get the most out of this place come with a big crowd and a huge appetite. Consider kicking a football around until you're exhausted, maybe fell a tree or two, or plough your acre without benefit of tractor or heavy horse. Order many beers from the small but satisfying range on offer- and worship the humble spud.
By the way...some of the reviews mentioned iffy service. Very friendly and efficient when we were there, though it was a quiet Monday.
