During our visit of Berlin we discovered the magnificently restored courtyards at the Rosenthaler Straße 40, being the Hackescher Höfe. We saw the nice looking terrace of Oxymoron in Hof 1 (Endellscher Hof), and decided to have a sandwich with a glass of wine. The site is great. You are in the middle of Berlin and the Höfe are crowded, but the atmosphere is relaxed and quit. We enjoyed our lunch on this unique place. The service was good, but not so friendly. This is our only con.
When I used the washroom inside the restaurant, I was amazed by the interior of Oxymoron. The walls are decorated with large curtains, mirrors and leather chesterfield couches. Nice decorated salon tables and a big chandelier give this restaurant a great ambience. Next time we will have dinner inside!

Discovered this place by accident while strolling around East Berlin the other morning looking for breakfast,
The setting is very much an old English fine dining tea house. So relaxing yet regal.
My girlfriend and I both ordered the scrambled egg and smoked salmon and it was cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Couldn't really ask for more.

Definitely try this place out for breakfast. I'm sure dinner would be fantastic too, although we didn't get around to trying it. On our next visit we will.

Very beautiful restaurant, the food was very good - the prices a bit high but it was worth it! I will totally go there again :)

This restaurant in Hackeschermarkt is easy to find, and provided a really nice experience. The service was among the best we have experienced in Germany, they know how to make good cocktails, and the food was delicious. We were in a fairly large group of friends and family members from our office, and they accommodated our request for separate checks. The menu was in both German and English and is on their website so you can check it out before you go. All in all, we had a lovely evening, and the staff played a big part in making it so.

Last week we had breakfast at Oxymoron, the place is great and relaxing and serves breakfast till late afternoon. Service is very good and friendly. We took the English breakfast which has more then enough toast but when I asked for ketchup ( yes I like this with the sausages ) they charged an extra 0.70 cent. This is not a lot but a shame that this was not free of charge.
Nevertheless I would definitely return!
