It was constructed in the mid-1920s and chimes/plays music on a certain schedule throughout the day. There are easily one dozen panels that are displayed throughout the cycle of operation. It's always crowded to see this so get there early enough to get a good place to see it--the panels change on the upper left of the building. It takes about 15 minutes for the full cycle. The street is uneven cobblestones so careful walking.

located in a pedestrial street of Boettcherstrasse, this is another building to see and spent some time, and specially at noon when the bells will play a seleccion of songs for about 20 minutes. Pretty interesting place to visit.

An excellent "play" presentation of the history of Bremen through the years. Please note this is entirely in German.

At midday, there is a peal of bells and a revolving sculpture display of navigators ancient and modern. The whole street is a 1930s extravaganza with fine craft shops. The street leads from the market down to the Weser river.

When in Bremen, go to this unique street.
We went two times, both evening and daytime.
Unfortunately we did not hear the clocks, which only chimes at 12,15 and 18.
Remember to look up, architecture varies and are all nice.

We were passing there not knowingly around midday time. There was a huge tourist crowd so we thought ther emust be something. The bells are really sweet to listen and the song goes on longer than 5 minutes. On the side there is a piece of column turning and showing some wonderers, we realised it a bit later because we were to focused on the bells :p

I found this while guiding a friend around Bremen. I live here but haven't had chance to explore much. Though it says the glockenspiel only plays 3 times a day we seem to have caught a bonus showing.

The revolving display, to the left, includes some odd things - including Alcock and Brown and Columbus. However this is a charming thing to stumble onto.
