Small family-owned "castle-like" hotel with so much love for details. The location is very good, the rooms are clean, it's quit, the breakfast can keep up with any 5* hotel - it's even better! The owners and the staff are from the area and you can feel that they love their job. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

We stayed here for a very relaxing weekend. This hotel is so clean, so spacious, the staff so friendly and the breakfast buffet so good.. it is hard to find words for this experience beyond all expectations. Hotel is family owned and from the very first moment you can feel that everyone loves having you as a guest. Very helpful with what to see and how to get there. Potsdam is not far away from Berlin but without the busy rumpus of the major city. So if you are looking for something romantic with the option of an easy accessible glittering nightlife this is the spot for you. The hotel is only a 5 minutes walk from Sanssouci, the former summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia and in this wonderful park you can have a very relaxing walk enjoying nature. Whatever your preferences are, make sure you don't miss out the breakfast.. You can chose from whatever you think should be on a breakfast buffet and please try the "Villa Monte Vino"-bread.. you can't buy it elsewhere so purchase some and take it home.

My colleague and me booked on our way and we were lucky. Everything is nice, clean and ancient in this hotel. Rooms are huge, comfortable and furnitures are very rich. I'll recommend it. And prices are also very low and affordable.
Common areas are well maintained. Breakfast rich and lecker!

I spent a lot of time researching hotels in order to book the best hotel for our stay in Potsdam...previous Trip Advisor reviews were mostly accurate..this is the BEST place to stay to visit San Soucci...Our GPS took us directly to the hotel which is situated on a one-way street, very nice, peaceful and safe....we were greated by the owner who was very accomodating and pleasant...we had a large room over looking the grounds, since I have problems with climbing this was perfect. There stil were stairs to climb on the property and to get to the breakfast room, but I could handle them. The room was nicely decorated, very clean, private patio on the ground floor, did have to keep some of the blinds closed at times for privacy...did not like the step up shower...the owners are a incredibly nice family who went out of their way to be welcoming...it helps big time to speak German which I do...they spoke English so my husband was not left out...they gave us a nice packet of info but have to say that here as all as all thoughout Germany, the lack of English translation is not helpful to a foreign tourist. Throughout our month in Germany, we kept saying that this was the Best Breakfast ever....it was incredible...full of choices of meats, cheeses, fruits and fruit salad, the best bread and rolls including the Volksbrot...homecakes, lots of juices, and on and on...everything was fresh, beautifully presented, still talking about how great it was...yes you can walk from here to San Soucci but unless you are young and in great shape, you need to take a taxi to other places of interest including the Dutch part of the town, the Marmorpalais, etc....we took a taxi from the hotel to the town at night...it was way too long to walk, at night, by ourselves to the center of town...we parked in their parking spaces which were a bit tight to maneuver.....Potsdam is a great place to visit for more than 1 or 2 days...we stayed for 4 nights and used it as a base to take a trip to Lutherstadt Wittenberg...very easy to get there but thankfully GPS and my own Michelin map got us back when the road was blocked as many of the roads are for construction all over Germany.....also loved having drinks at their bar even if not one other guest was every present....nice wine, little snacks....Highly recommended....

Room Tip: Ground floor with view
