Located close to the main station, the property is very convenient for travelers.
Personnel is very friendly and at the entrance desk 24/7.
I was given a double room (booked a single room) which is spacious enough and quite comfortable.
For a room this size, the television is redicoulously small. And when I turned the heating on to come into a comfortably warm room at the end of the day, I noticed one day the the cleaning lady had turned the heating off again.
That‘s all just minor problems, however. What really sucks is the bathroom.
First of all, the bathroom is spacious for this type of hotel. But it is wasting so much space, that I‘ve stayed in rooms with bathrooms nearly half the size of this one and still more comfort and convenience. The complaints one by one:
- The wash table is stupidly small, with a shelf over it and a mirror. The setup is such, that it is impossible to wash your face or shave without flooding the floor. You simply can not get your head over the sink without biting in the utility shelf.
- The shower is small. Too small, as there definitely is room enough in the bathroom to install a much larger shower.
- The hot water is hot, but little.
- The shower needs a thorough cleaning, as it is dirty and moldy
- The washing gel, in a bottle by the sink, probably wasn’t good anymore, as it stank
- After the tissue box on the wall had been refilled, it suddenly came off. Apparently, the cleaning lady had not hooked it on the the screws in the wall properly.

A small (just nine rooms!), basic hotel, located in a quite street (Holzdamm seems to be much quiter than Kirchenallee!), just two minutes from the Hauptbahnhof. Exactly what I wanted! Breakfast was enough for me, the room was clean and I slept well, despite of the bed being a little on the smaller side. The stairs are steep and there's no elevator - not an issue for me, but others might find it a problem.

Me and sons stayed in a 3 bed room for one night at the weekend. Room size and comfort was fine, a good shower too.
Not the biggest choice for breakfast but perfectly adequate and good quality. 5 minutes walk from the main station but didn't hear any noise from it. As others have said, no lift but thats about the only downside.
