We stopped here based on the great reviews. As a vegetarian, my expectations were low and I was willing to eat a simple salad for lunch so that my family could enjoy traditional German fare during our 1-day stop in Hamburg. I was pretty blown away by what showed up - beet salad with baked cheese croquettes topped with little biscuits. So, in addition to the schnitzel that my family devoured, I enjoyed a wonderful vegetarian version of traditional German cuisine.

This restaurant had a charming atmosphere as well as good food. Our first dinner was eel soup and pannfisch, two kinds of white fish and salmon, with a mustard sauce -- very good! The next night we had eel soup again, then Wiener Schnitzel, two pieces instead of one, a little thicker than usual, but good.

The building is very old. The ambiance is historic. Asparagus soup was not very good. The service was slow. The schnitzel was not Vienna style at all.

Service was a little slow but it was worth the wait. The food was really good. The atmosphere was amazing. The units were built in the mid 1600s and the history of the area is very charming. If you're in Hamburg and have time this should not be missed!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Service was very slow, good dishes but not exceptional. Very charming place but disappointed by the flavors of the dishes. Quite expensive for the products served.
