This is a nice little hotel. Very conveniently located next to the Markt Platz. Rooms are a little on the small side but actually fine. Staff are very friendly. I can't comment on the breakfast because I left every morning before it starts. Underground parking is useful. Wi-Fi sadly is very slow which is not great for business travelling but it's mostly a tourist hotel so it's kind of expected. It's a little quirky but that gives it character.

Hotel Galerie is in a relatively modern building, clean and neat, with lovely large bedrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful, and spoke very good English. The hotel is on a street just off the main market square in Greifswald, so it is very close to some beautiful historic restaurants and drinking places. The market square also hosts a nice market several mornings a week (good local produce, sausages, fish, cheese etc). The street outside the hotel can be a bit noisy: one night there were students being rowdy outside, and passing traffic could be heard. Breakfast was delicious and generous, in the German manner, but with added fruit and muesli. Coffee was adequate. We ate at the Alter Fritz on the square one night, and drank good beer there on another. Greifswald is a pretty and well preserved city, well worth a stop over. Other than the cathedral, the only 'site' we visited was the Caspar David Freidrich birthplace, but we should have gone to the Pommeranian Museum too. So it goes.

Room Tip: all the same I think

This hotel is situated just off the market square, but is an island of quiet peace. The breakfast is ample and varied and the staff were very hospitable. Excellent stay. The only feedback I would give is that it would be nice to have a kettle with teas/coffee in the room.

Very nice hotel close to the main town square. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating, the premises clean and the room spacious, modern, and decorated with modern art. It is a good hotel and I would gladly recommend it for anybody visiting Greifswald.

A fine hotel. My room was very clean with modern bathroom fixtures and new furniture and cabinetry. The bed mattress was firm and comfortable, the pillows were soft and very adjustable. The bathroom linens included a washcloth! --very unusual for Europe. The room was pretty quiet except for the street noise; the windows blocked the noise pretty well when closed. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The free breakfast was divine --fresh hard rolls, cold cuts, cheese, smoked fish, fruit, yogurt and granola; a little pot of coffee or tea for each guest. I think the breakfast was my favorite part.
